Don't wast your time with this winch I have a 3000 lbs boat fully loaded the winch bent and twisted pulling the boat only 2' up to the stop. second trip out the gears started jumping. small boat it will work but if your boat is #3000 double the size

This is a review for Heavy Duty 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch Brake 3500lbs with 10 m(32.8ft) Strap Ratcheting Hand Crank Black. I was looking forward to replacing my old winch as it was only one speed and when I saw 2-speed, I had to try it. So, I spent the time of taking my old one off and putting this one on. I go to the lake and launch. After a fun few hours, I came back to recover my boat. I get ready and I latch my boat and start reeling it in. It when downhill quickly. Jumping gears, slipping and falling apart. I wouldn’t give this to my worst enemy. Poor quality components and lousy workmanship in assembly. The money you spend is just wasted so I recommend you find another from a manufacturer that actually cares what they put out. I say this because I read two other reviews that had the same luck. We wanted this to work... and because it didn't someone could have been hurt. My hubby always is thinking of what he can use/ or how to use something a different way... we were using this to help move some trees... luckily we were using two winches. I wouldn't recommend this one.
