It’s surprising how well it’s made. It’s Yeswelder and they have had some crap made in the past, but this isn’t bad. It clamps hard, and feels very sturdy in your hand. Just know, this is a full size stinger, it’s big compared to what most of us are used to. I cannot complain for $20 this thing should last me a long time. Compared to stock Yeswelder stinger, this thing is a major upgrade!

heavy duty, good for needs

No rod will fall out of this yeswelder electrode holder unless it's 1/16 rod. then, the lower teeth are too shallow for 1/16 which is used in thin sheet metal projecets. you can push the 1/16 rod in there without opening it. it has copper both sides of Jaw and top is flat not triangle like some so it makes full contact. The 2nd caveat is, it has no cabble restraint or cable grommet and I've had cable come out middle of welding. Also they send you only one copper crimp sleeve to place the cable inside and tighten and it's only good for one use. there is way too much room for cable in the handle and the screw holding it is not going to hold without restraint or cable grommet . I had to add cable ties to make sure it doesnt happen again. 1/2/2025 update: I tried two more electrodes the lower cost 300Amp. very comfortable and it workd with 1/16 rods but was cracked completely wher the screw is. I ordered a replacment and it had very small crack i ignored but while welding the lower cover fell off. I think Yeswelder needs to change QC.

This KY1016-500a electrode holder vastly improves on my welder’s original, which didn’t hold the electrode securely in any position but especially the one straight out of the holder when you’re down to the last two inches of stick. This is absolutely solid. Thanks, Yeswelder.
