Kicks out a lot of heat, when it works. But it does not work continuously. First unit I received stopped working, so I called for a replacement. They quickly sent me another one, which was really neat. With the replacement, my wife and I go out camping…shortly after receiving it, it does not work… Again. Will not stay lit. Not even sure if it’s safe to use as is. ... show more

The tilt function is awesome. The convex heater plates also help immensely. The heat control is infinitely adjustable if you don't mind the noise that comes with it not being fully set to a position. The other pros are it can run both heater elements off of a single 1lb canister. Storing them off the ground and the magnets that keep them somewhat more secure is also great. The only con I've had is that the single tank setup means more changing of tanks. That doesn't affect me as I have the ignik gas growler. I have a 5 lb container I attach to it. I can refill it for 3.99$ and store a spare emergency 1lb in the back of the heat hog. I've had 0 issues through multiple ice fishing uses. It gets the shelter to 70+ degrees Fahrenheit. I was fully prepared to get the other brand, just deciding on which model. In doing that research, I stumbled upon Heat Hog. Thought I liked the specs, KNEW that I liked the reviews. We did a spring tent trip to Cape Cod. Only felt we needed it on a COLD rainy night and for bursts when it didn't warm up the next day. PROS: Handle, tilt feature, controls, quiet operation, overall quality and extra tank storage. CONS: None except I wanted to buy an extended warranty. Hope this helps. ... show more
