Description

In her debut cookbook, the founder of Spring Cafe teaches families how to create healthy plant-based recipes to enhance their overall well-being. Sabrina Rudin knows nourishment is key in the kitchen. She believes healthy food should be delicious and satisfying, because that’s how to get everyone at the table to clean their plates—and ultimately to feel their best. Since opening organic, vegetarian restaurant Spring Café in 2013—and then becoming a mom in 2016—she has grown into a passionate advocate for raising awareness about toxins in our food, and educating people and families on how to cook, eat, and live in a better way for both themselves and the planet. Now, in her debut cookbook, Sabrina shares the tools you need to create an attainable healthy lifestyle at home. Her methods are straightforward and easy to incorporate into your existing routines, with an ethos centered around the joy and abundance of mealtime. You’ll learn how to choose, prep, cook, and ultimately thrive on plant-based foods. These 100 recipes are both elegant and simple enough to satisfy people of all ages and palates, whether your youngest just developing their palate, a growing teen with a hearty appetite, or a busy professional. Some highlights include: Fluffiest Gluten-Free Pancakes The Green Banana Smoothie (Sabrina's favorite) Classic Tempeh Reuben Sandwiches Simple Hippie Hummus with Crunchy Veggies and Tahini Drizzle No Bake Peanut Butter Granola Bars And many more delicious options! Healthy with a Side of Happy will inspire you to shift the foundation of the way you eat and cook for the ones you love, creating healthier, happier lives for all of you. Read more

  • Easy and quick recipes with pictures
Format: Hardcover
I love this cookbook. Recipes are easy and quick. Mostly uses what is already in your pantry. No strange ingredients. Lots of pictures, easy to follow recipes. I already bought a second cookbook for a friend as a gift and suggested it to two more friends who were interested in it after I told them what I made. Stuffed shells were delicious and the cabbage salad. Lots of great dressings as well. ... show more

  • Our family fav cookbook right now! Easy and yummy veggie/fruit based recipes.
Format: Hardcover
The pages are filled with bright and appetizing pictures and I love how each recipe has a personal story or tips on alternative ways to make it. My daughter is not a veggie lover but she excitedly flipped through the book and tabbed it up with recipes she wants to try. We made the hummus (it really is simple!) and the coco mango smoothie this week and have a bunch more we want to try. I loved the extra tips like warming up the chickpeas and using ice water - it def made the hummus extra creamy . For the smoothie - I've never thought to use coconut milk and so glad I now have this option. I esp like how the recipes don't have a long list of ingredients and the recipes are very approachable, even for a non-cook like me. Best thing about this book is that it's making our household eat more veggies! ... show more

  • The Plant-Based Cookbook I Actually Feel Excited to Use
Format: Hardcover
What an amazing cookbook! I’ve been eating mostly plant-based for years, and this has completely reinspired me to cook more at home. It’s filled with healthy, nourishing, and genuinely delicious meals that I’m actually excited to make. I especially love that most of the recipes are straightforward, approachable, and easy to follow. It makes healthy cooking feel exciting again. ... show more

  • Good but does not have 100 plant-based recipes
Format: Hardcover
There are some good recipes in here except they are not all plant based which is disappointing. They should revise the cover… For instance, a recipe for donuts with two eggs is not plant based.

  • Inspiring and easy changes!
Format: Hardcover
A great book! Read the first chapter about her philosophy and tips. As a mom of a family of 5 this book had great ideas on incorporating more veggies! My kids can’t wait for me to make this smoothie 💚

  • Not 100% Plant Based, this is a Vegetarian cookbook
Format: Hardcover
Not 100% Plant Based. False Advertising... This has vegetarian recipes with eggs, butter, feta. And not healthy since a number of recipes use oil.
