  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Temp up/down button sticks
Style: Single Stage @ 1H/1C
Works well on permanent hold as we want it. The up and down button tends to stick when you change temp, and the t-stat then just cycles continuously. Sprayed silicone on it and fixed issue for now.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Has many attractive features
Style: Multi Stage @ 2H/2C
This is a two stage heat and cool thermostat. I set the differential as small as possible and made the first stage of cool and heat to be fan only. That balances out my terribly out of balance house as it takes all the hot and cold rooms and mixes that air up before starting the main equipment. These two features are what I bought this for but it also has a low battery icon and the background temporarily lights up the the BIG numbers if any button is pushed. The instructions (all of them) were very confusing but I was able to figure them out by experimentation. It is best to try this thing out before actually wiring it in as it can run on battery only. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars VERY EASY TO USE
Style: Multi Stage @ 2H/2C
I bought this to replace the expensive thermostat in my home before I sold my home. It serves the purpose and did the trick.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars TURN OFF YOUR POWER 1st
Style: Multi Stage @ 2H/2C
When I first started to install the wires with a pair of pliers I crossed some a bit and touched the metal and saw sparks. I had forgotten to shut off the power to the A/C and furnace. It was fine, but be do that first don’t be me. It works I like that it has a blue back light to the screen when you touch it I don’t like how crowded the right side of the screen gets with the temperature set and actual temperature displayed at the same time, but it’s worth its price. I also cannot figure out how to turn off the military time 24 hour time and it’s driving me crazy, so if anybody could help it would be hugely appreciated. The instructions were not helpful and I couldn’t figure it out from what others have posted on here. As far as installs go it went smoothly and when the power was turned on it immediately kicked into gear without issue. Again if anybody could help change it from 24 hours to 12 hours please help. I feel dumb because I can’t figure it out. ... show more

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars Problem with fan control connections
Style: Multi Stage @ 2H/2C
When I connect the fan control wires, it blows the fuse on the furnace control. Not sure why. I don't use the fan by itself so it's no big loss for me. Eventually I may re-read the furnace manual and try to figure out why but it seems more trouble than it's worth. I blew several fuses before giving up on the fan connections. I was able to successfully connect the heater which is all I need. The furnace uses the fan as a blower to circulate heated air and works fine that way. I think this thermostat can also be used to control cooling but I don't have an air conditioner, only a furnace so I can't vouch for it in that regard. Programming the thermostat is easy. Temporarily overriding the programming is also easy. However, it doesn't have separate programs for each day of the week. You are stuck with the same settings for all weekdays (M-F). Not sure about Saturday and Sunday, but I think they are separate. You get four temperature settings for each (M-F, Sat, Sun). It uses back up batteries to keep the clock and timer running in the event of a power failure but under normal conditions low voltage power is provided by the furnace. The price is okay and it was considerably cheaper than replacing it with the same model that died on me. Even so, the fact that the furnace's control fuse blows when I connect the fan prevents me from recommending this thermostat. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Good for its value
Style: Multi Stage @ 2H/2C
If this was one of those expensive thermostats, I would've given a lower rating. But it's budget so I can't really complain. The install was easy and the directions for programming was also easy. I also like the flexibility on what turns on and how long it's on. And as someone who came from a dark age thermostat, the background light on this thing is really nice. Some reviewers had problems with the buttons being sticky, but so far 2 weeks in I haven't experienced this... yet. But... this thermostat is just not flexible enough. I live in the desert so 90°F isn't a high temperature for me. I have a power saving time so my electric bill isn't sky high. During this time I can't have the AC on at all. If I were able to set the temps to 99° that'd be fine but I can't. 90° max. If I were able to flex the temp calibration down to -10° degrees, that'd be great but I can't. Only - 3° max. I have a 2 story house so I put this downstairs where it will be less of a problem. I'm going to have to go with a smart thermostat if I want anything for upstairs. Update: Unfortunately, I had to return this. The limitations just weren't cutting it. Also, within the month of having this t-stat, the AC hooked up to it stopped working. An electrical board got burnt up and then some which took me near $1k to fix. It's likely just coincidental, but regardless I removed this thermostat when I got the AC fixed. Gonna go with something more expensive and reputable. ... show more
