  • UPDATE: Great camera for the price
UPDATE: I bought a 3rd camera - the new version with the ability to control settings over Ethernet. This makes operating/adjusting *SO* much easier, especially as we use them in both natural & low light situations, which require very different settings. With the older models, everything had to be adjusted using remote control, which was not very convenient. Definitely a step up Bought 2 of these cameras to use in a venue. To be fair, we're probably pushing this beyond the limits most will need and still getting the hang of a lot of the settings. Running through a Blackmagic ATEM pro to stream out. In normal daylight the picture quality is great. However, we mostly use for bands/performances at night with stage lighting etc, so it has required a fair bit of experimenting. Although it shows low light mode on the specs, this isn't actually available (although apparently they have a new release coming out). WIth the daylight settings, the colour is very hot & contrasty. However by playing with the settings it is possible to get a pretty good picture, especially if you plan to manipulate later with editing software. The secret is to drop the colour settings right back. Using the remote to do everything is a real painful process, so I'm looking into software control options (also for camera movement). I haven't played with the preset options yet to see if I can set that way in the meantime. A big plus has been support - they've been super helpful & quick to respond, which is often not the case with products bought on Amazon. Considering getting a 3rd camera in the near future. ... show more

  • Fantastic carmera for streaming our church services.
The picture quality is great. The remote control works but the documents are not very helpful at all. The device has a lot of capabilities we would like to use but have no instructions that help. This camera is good now and will be great when we can use more of the cameras capabilities. This is a good choice at a decent price. ... show more

  • Good unit, great picture quality. Remote is a bit clunky
we use it for a weekly 1hr group meeting, about 20 people in person and 20 more on Zoom. Very quiet operation which allows people to forget the camera is there. (Folks tend to get uncomfortable if they know they are on screen) The remote control is a bit clunky and camera is very slow to pan around. It only allows for one operation at a time…for example, slow pan left, then tilt up of down, then zoom in. I’m currently looking for inexpensive joystick controller to hopefully fix this. The camera definitely moves faster if I use preset location function on the remote, but in my particular situation, location presets don’t help much, as folks sit in different spots each week. Overall we are pleased 5 months after purchasing. ... show more

  • Fantastic Design
This camera fills all the "yes" boxes!! Worked great right out of the carton and performed better than advertised. Thank you for being one of the few who provide what they claim with their products!

  • Limited Visca support
Boy, I really like this camera. Great image quality and physical construction, and it has all of the interfaces I need for my project - POE, HDMI, Visca control over Ethernet. Unfortunately, I need to control the camera remotely, it seems the VISCA interface is incomplete. Pan/tilt over VISCA is at one speed only so I can't do a fast manual pan or a slow auto-pan from my control console. Also, the presets function doesn't work through VISCA so I can't preprogram locations. I know the camera can support all of these functions because I can achieve them with the included IR remote. I have been unable to find any support for this cameral online, either documentation or firmware updates, and very little in the online communities. I will likely return the camera if I can't find a solution. ... show more

  • Affordable PTZ Camera and Excellent Customer Support
Style: HDMI/USB/SDI 20X
I tested this for my church. As a PTZ camera, it has what I was looking for: easy plug and play USB without custom drivers, extra video out for monitoring, and both IR remote and joystick control support. I was looking for a secondary camera view and this camera was half the cost of the one we had from Telycam. Granted, there were a few shortcomings. First, OSD menu is very basic and the control configuration is via hardware DIP switches on the base. Actually, the hardware switches may be a good thing as the Telycam camera sometimes loses the settings and we have to use the IR remote to fix that. Second, there are far fewer advanced features. It is more like a run of the mill webcam. I didn't use much in the Telycam so I didn't miss it. I consider this okay when I think of this as basically a consumer grade USB webcam with PTZ features, not a professional grade camera first. The HDMI and SDI outputs (only checked former as I lacked SDI capture) looked fine. Third, there is an issue with left/right panning. It seems that the default definition is for the camera to be pointed at the user so left and right are relative to the user. However, I have it pointed forward into a chapel so left and right are reversed. The IR remote has a left/right set button but it doesn't work on this model. Thus, I needed to contact customer support. Tongveo customer support was quick to inform me that there is a model with updated firmware in a few months. The menu says the firmware version I got is from July 2021. As I got this with holiday sales, they said to return the camera and they will price match when the new firmware is out. So excellent support and commitment to the customer. Fourth, this is USB 2.0 which is listed in the description. The photo shows a USB 3.0 cable and there is a 3.0 port, but the connection is 2.0. I used Microsoft's own diagnostic tools to look at the USB hierarchy to confirm it is 2.0 (not on any super speed bus). ... show more

  • Good camera
It has worked pretty good for the past year but now it seems to freeze/disconnect itself from time to time. The frequency of it locking up seems to be increasing. I'm not 100% sure its the camera as it does plug into a usb video adapter.
