  • This camera will change how you create content too
Size: Tail Air
We create three types of content. Lives (streaming/Twitch), shorts (TikTok), and long form content (YouTube). This camera has changed how we produce all of our content, for the better. 1. The camera is actually good. The lens is a 23mm f/1.8. If you know about camera lenses, then you know how much that alone could cost. We've tried a few different cameras over the years and this one is seriously good for the price. 2. Our workflow while we record in the shop is so much more efficient because of the AI tracking features. The time we spent moving one camera from place to place in the shop is now just placing the camera in an angle that can see most of our workspace and then we use hand gestures to track and zoom. 3. Connectivity is easy since there are multiple ways to connect the tail air. You can plug in the camera via the USB-C cable and start filming or you can connect via (NDI license which can be purchased separately) or even a USB to ethernet adapter. 4. OBSBOT has a remote control for the system too, so you could control all features of the tail air from a distance that way, if your content limits that ability to use hand gestures. Those are just the quick good points. We use the camera as our main streaming camera. The tail air can integrate with our stream deck allowing us to have quick buttons for different angles of the room, different preset zoom points, and quick AI tracking. Since the tail air has all of these features, we have eliminated all the other cameras from our streaming setup. In the OBSBOT App you can control all camera settings, like your ISO, shutter speed, auto focus, white balance, and frame rates. You can even go as far as to apply your temperatures, brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness to the video being recorded. While the $499 price tag may seem high initially, I can assure you that you will not get this quality of camera, with all these features, for anywhere close to this amount anywhere else. ... show more

  • Great ptz camera for the price
Size: Tail Air
Connects via usb, HDMI, NDI, and wifi. Excellent tracking, clarity, image setting for different light options (cloudy, fluorescent, daylight, etc.), record directly to camera (microSD slot), battery power for mobile needs, no need for capture card for webcam/zoom/MS Teams (unless using HDMI). Highly recommend. My ratings are based on the flexible options for use - portable, webcam, HDMI for ATEM mini (or other switchers), NDI for remote/network options, wireless recording, etc. The remote is a convent addition for teaching/presenting can control ptz gimble, can start/stop record, start/stop tracking, and has a laser pointer. ... show more

  • Battery died 13 months after purchase - Camera will not function without a working battery
Size: Tail Air
This has been an incredible camera. But it has one HUGE flaw. When you power the camera it charges the battery and the battery then powers the camera. I've had this camera for 13 months now. About 6 months ago I noticed the battery was not charging to full. But that was not really a problem as it is used in a studio and not as a mobile camera. Then over the last several months the battery level has gone lower and lower. Today the battery will not charge. No charge in the battery equals the camera not turning on. There seems to be no ability to bypass the battery or replace it to fix the issue. This camera was way too expensive to lose it 13 months out. Exactly one month after the warranty expires. It was great while it worked. But with this battery issue it is a huge problem. Do not buy unless you plan to use it only for 6 months to a year. ... show more

  • My Honest Review
Size: Tail Air
Let me start you out with wow just WOW. Not only is the Tail Air big but the quality is great. The features are ground breaking with NDI, Bluetooth, and enhanced tracking; as well as the standard features from OBSBOT. The Tail Air has up to 2.5 hrs of battery life so you can take you camera out and record out door and not be limited to your content. The tracking capability is off the charts it can track people, animals, and objects. The quality of it is amazing it can do 4k 30fps or 1080p 60fps. The build quality is great with easy access to plug in. The gestures I feel like is picked up much easier than the tiny 2 and that is refreshing. Seeing a company to go up and beyond the standards, as well as expanding the boundaries of streaming/content creation has me excited and hopeful for the future! Pros: -Bigger Display -Picture Quality -Remote Use -Good Mic -Enhanced AI -4k 30FPS ... show more

  • Good product but overall a letdown
Size: Tail Air
As a video tech, I was excited about getting a bunch of these to incorporate in my productions. I did use it for a few jobs, but recently it started glitching and being unreliable for no reason I can think of. It started by doing these weird jerk glitches, and as it jerked to its pan limit, it would jerk hard a few times before stopping. This ultimately resulted in a much more limited pan range, where I needed to adjust the tripod to position and experience random, embarrassing glitches. I'm not sure whether it's a mechanical thing or a software thing. It has only been a little over 1 year since purchased, and customer support said it is no longer covered, and I must pay to have it repaired. Unfortunately, my trust in this brand and maybe technology will take some time to recover. I know there are more robust PTZ cams out there, but this one did have a nice form factor and app/operation experience. ... show more
