I had this hooked up to enable recording cable TV to an old DVD-recorder/DVR combo unit. I have a surge protector/power strip with USB outlets I was powering it off. One day it just stopped working. The cables and equipment aren't really moved, it's all tidied up on a shelf with plenty of slack. I contacted the company after buying a second one given the box said that it had a 24 month warranty and they refunded me my purchase within 24 hours, essentially giving me a replacement free after one message. Pure junk bought 3 of these for our older tvs. All 3 have the same issue with audio. Every once in awhile the audio will distort very very bad. And you would have to unplug the power and the HDMI cords to reset it. Stay away from this device
