Works as described. Had what i thought was a critical problem ended up being a setting. If you use true tone or other auto adjusting color/brightness settings..turn this off other wise colors will be off. Had this problem on two MACs, a camera, a phone and a Surface. Once disabled worked okay. Other issue is that the device gets really warm when in use. It may cause issues if you have it in a cramped area where heat may gather. Possible fix is to use it in a port where there is more open air. Well worth the money once the color issue was figured out.

It's always such a good feeling when you buy something cheap and it turns out to the job just right! I bought this capture card because I don't have the budget for expensive Elgato equipment. I was sure it won't be good, but the gadget works as promised: 1080p and 60FPS, no stutters, no issues at all. This takes some load off my computer, and moves it over to the laptop I use to record things. 10/10 would recommend

Very simple, some lag between the device and your computer, so it's much better for streaming video than playing games, but that's exactly what's expected.

I have recently been trying out Skype to spend some face time with my family. I have a regular web cam and a Canon DSLR. The webcam had poor image quality while the Canon has a webcam utility for Windows, but it only works at the max uncompressed video resolution of 1024×576 (576p) via USB. That’s when I discovered video capture cards. I didn’t need anything too fancy; just 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080). This tiny USB2 capture card seemed to be the best bang for the buck with 1080p at up to 60 frames per second. The USB capture card comes in simple packaging without any extras. So no cables. When I went to hook it up, I discovered my DSLR has a smaller Mini HDMI socket so I had to order a cable before I could use it. There are three different types of HDMI plugs available: Micro, Mini and regular. So check which you need. Setup Set up was very simple. I just connected my camera to the capture card and plugged the capture card into a spare USB port on my computer. Windows beeped to tell me a new device was plugged in, an installing drivers dialog window popped up briefly and it was done. I first tried a browser-based webcam test utility. When I pressed start there was a popup window saying Windows wants to access my webcam. After clicking OK, the capture card just worked. The experience with Skype was very similar. Results The image quality is decent. The 576p was better than my webcam while the 1080p with this capture card was comparable but with crisper details. It works very well with a slight motion lag but there is less motion lag than with my webcam. I’ve tried it in OBS too. I did have one problem with my Canon DSLR shutting off after 30 seconds. I found a battery saving setting on the camera that I have to disable and then the webcam runs till the battery runs out. Conclusion This capture card works very well for the price. It is recognized as a webcam without extra software and, depending on your video source, the quality is good. Now I just need to get a DC power adapter for my DSLR so I can capture streaming video for as long as I like. A battery only lasts about 30 minutes. If you are doing a video blog/podcast this is an excellent little gadget. Allowing you to stream video directly to your computer. You can use it as a webcam or record on your computer’s high capacity hard drive. I really can’t fault it especially given its low $20 price.

I used this to live stream an event though YouTube - it is the adapter I needed to convert the HDMI-Out on my camcorder (using an HDMI cable) to the USB input on my laptop. (NOTE: you can't just connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your laptop because that port is video OUT. You can't send video INTO that port). The laptop found the adapter as a video source and everything went well. Don't know about the audio because I used a separate microphone input to my laptop, not the audio built into the camcorder.

This capture card works well for a low price unit. I found it made my playback from my recording a tiny bit jittery - like there was a frame missing every second. Barely noticeable, but it's there. No software included. I downloaded OSB Studio - a free open source program. This does the job for a low price item.

Connected to my Macbook Pro 2017 through a USB3 hub. No drivers needed. Opened up Photo Booth, and it saw the microscope feed I had going through the video capture device no problem. There was a small delay. Not sure where in the chain it was caused, but I wasn't too worried about it. So easy to use!
