Very nice quality for the price, better than the original one

  • Worked perfectly for my camper
Thick, durable material, weather resistant, Cost-effective replacement option, difficult to install on your own, easier with 2 people

  • Great Upgrade!
We bought a used camper a few years back and found out that the awning had both mold and some warping due to sun exposure. While it still worked, we were still getting whiffs of mold and stagnant water even after some major cleaning. This replacement awning finally resolved the issues and also just made our camper look that much nicer with the awning out. It's a bit thicker as a fabric and definitely feels more durable than the original stuff. As for installation, they recommend using silicone lubrication to help slide the awning into the rail, which definitely helps when you consider the amount of friction for such a narrow space and awkward material. It's also helpful to have another person to hold up the end of the fabric to feed it into the railing as you slide it in. Connecting the front bar was also a bit of a challenge, but it's a learning curve for a one-time process, I guess. The material looks and feels fantastic, with solid stitching and a good weight. A few others out there boast one or two more "layers" of material, but I'm not convinced that they'd be any sturdier than this one over time. Only time will tell how this one holds up, but in the meantime, we're happy campers! ... show more

  • Don’t overpay at an RV store
Size: 20.0' (19.17' Fabric) Color: Gray Fade
Nice quality. Great price. Looks great. We saved over $400 doing it ourselves. It’s best to have three people to do the installation. Our last awning was 12 years old. I think this one will be great for as long as we have this camper.

  • Very very nice
Size: 14.0' (13.17' Fabric) Color: Blue Fade
There are two main types of awnings. There is the type like mine where you slide the fabric into place. The other type has you place the fabric over the retaining slots and then you push it into the slot using a roller and a stretchy string. So this review is for the awning fabric that you have to slide into the slots. This awning is heavier than my previous awning. No rips or tears. No poorly sewn edges. Everything was perfect. Replacing an awning is always described as at least a two-person job. I decided to tackle this job by myself, and it was tough. I got it done, but an extra set of hands would have saved a lot of time. The best tip I can give you is to lubricate the fabric before you slide it into place. I didn't do that for the top, and it went on slowly. Very slowly. It was even harder putting it on the tube that actually rolls up the awning. In fact, it got stuck after a few feet. It wasn't going on. Videos say to use silicone lube. I didn't have any. One video said to use anything slippery, even dish soap. Well, I had dish soap and that's what I used. I spent probably an hour putting on the first couple of feet before it got stuck. After soaping the fabric, I slid the rest of it on in a few minutes. Another tip is to file the edges of the slots that hold the fabric. This will remove any burrs or built up dirt that might restrict or cut the fabric as you slide it on. Final tip is to absolutely use a couple of small screws to hold the fabric in place so it doesn't slide to one side or the other. I had such screws for the top slot that is attached to the top of the rv. There weren't any such screws on the tube that rolls up the fabric. I put them right into the slot itself. I had to use self-tapping metal screws of course. Just make sure you have everything lined up nice and straight before you do the screws. ... show more

  • High quality fabric with great potential
Size: 18.0' (17.17' Fabric) Color: Black
This awning fabric is quite heavy, which speaks to its quality. Unfortunately, my vintage trailer project ended up being more costly than expected, so I didn’t get a chance to use this fabric. However, based on its weight and feel, along with other reviewers’ positive experiences, I’m confident it would be an excellent choice when I do use it. It definitely feels high quality! I may end up using this as a cover for our utility trailer, it's that thick and glorious. I just hope I don't have to stoop to that for such a great fabric, so I'll give it time to find a new trailer project and hang onto it just in case! ... show more

  • Quality awning
Size: 18.0' (17.17' Fabric) Color: Black
This is a high quality awning replacement fabric. This is a very good value over the pricing at the local RV dealership. I would not recommend trying to install this alone. This was a bit of work but the end result exceeded my expectations. This fit well and the fabric seems more durable than the factory supplied awning. Recommended. ... show more

  • Very, very pleased!
Size: 16.0' (15.17' Fabric) Color: Blue Fade
This is a great heavy duty awning for your RV! The colors are eye pleasing and deflects the sun. When you’re setting under the awning, it keeps the sun off and you actually stay cooler. We got a 16ft for our camper. This is a pretty good size of material to try and handle with one person. It’s practically impossible, to be honest. When we installed this to our camper, it literally took 3 people. At one point we had a 4th person come help with install unto the camper itself. This isn’t something you should tackle alone. Be prepared, you will get frustrated and maybe say several, if not many, choice words. Once it’s on, it functions just as it’s supposed to function. It rolls in and out easily and it’s a great replacement for the old one. I feel it’ll last several years without having to replace again. If you have an RV with an awning, you know rain, wind, and travel will cause it to deteriorate rapidly. When I got the 16ft piece, it was close to $98. For what you get, it’s an extremely good value. Some of these awnings can cost so much more. We are truly pleased. I forgot to take pictures when we were done. We were so tired and frustrated that it slipped my mind. Once we go back out to our RV site, I’ll get pictures and post them. ... show more
