I bought something similar for my grandchildren a few years ago, they were less than impressed... but I liked it. This one is particularly useful to me because of the integrated screen. I use it to check the edge of knives that I'm sharpening, I can get the focus dialed in and then use it repeatedly without having to readjust. several different intensity settings for the LED lights allows me to get a good high contrast image, up to 4x magnification (that's what the screen says) allows me to see scratch marks and burrs on the sharpened edge. I like that it works without having to connect to a computer for display, but also that it can connect if I want to see a larger image. Very convenient, works well. If I had one complaint, it would be the absence of a tripod mount so I could use both hands instead of holding the microscope with one of them. But that's not a big deal.

This is a fund little microscope. Its fun to go around looking at common everyday items under the microscope. It has a ring of LEDs on the bottom to light up anything you place it on. Its very easy to focus and you have some digital zooming as well to get even closer look. I like that it came with a SD card to save photos of what you found. Also the screen is adjustable so you don't have to keep it on the side view it will tilt up for better viewing. This was clear from the listing and was a concern when ordering it but I happily found out it moves.

This is an amazing gift for any young child! I got this for my 6- and 8-year-olds since they love catching bugs, and they’re going to have a blast with it. It takes a little time to learn all the features, but once you get the hang of it, it’s fantastic! I also love that it comes with a memory card and is rechargeable.

I wish there were some acrylic slides that came with this for the kids to experiment with. However, you can still use this with a variety of stuff beyond the predone slides just by putting them to the surface. I did try the pc camera feature and it works well without issue: no additional drivers need installed off the internet or anything. Overall, this is a great little kids' stem toy.

Our Daughter has fun using this outside to check out leaves, bugs, just about anything she comes across. But on rainy days when she's stuck inside, there's a whole tiny world to explore in every part of the house. So many things that she can magnify and be amazed by. I have to admit, I have a lot of fun playing with it myself. I can really appreciate that it's simple enough that small kids can use it.
