this product is so awesome. i have purchased the shaver singly and in the party pack, two orders of each type. so i have my review of the item posted in both places, shown below: first purchase was in july 2013 for my granddaughter, big hit! then three more at Christmastime, one for me, one for a girlfriend's daughter, and a fourth for some friend's teenage boys. hits all the way around. i love shaved ice, with or without syrup. hawaiian ice sells replacement blades on their website: i have not found them offered for sale anywhere else, and wanted to, because their shipping is exorbitant, so high they should be embarrassed, but their ice shaver is awesome. january 20 2014 update: i got replacement blades (they are not thin like a razor blade, but a thickish piece of metal that tapers to an edge) to have on hand to use in the future, and extra cups to freeze the discs, which, btw, come three to an order. i ordered three and received nine, so that was a pleasant surprise. :) a comment about the leftover ice that cannot be shaved when the frozen disc of ice is used in the machine, a 3" diameter disc of ice that is about 1/4 inch thick. i have read complaints about this being a wasted chunk of ice, but i keep them, put the remaining piece of the disc in the freezer in a bag, and use them to cool down drinks that are in large cups, or to cool down brewed tea for iced tea. i consider having the leftover discs a bonus! i buy snow cone concentrate from Ralph's SnoBall Supply and make cavity/bacteria killing snow cone syrups with xylitol granules, a sugar alcohol sweetener, so every snow cone is a treatment for my teeth. you can even buy some of the concentrates that are clear, eliminating dye, but there are still the preservatives. they also sell syrups pre-made with cane sugar and charge reasonable prices for them, but i buy the concentrates to be able to use different sweeteners. xylitol is also diabetic friendly, and it doesn't taste fake, just good, and i usually HATE artificial sweeteners. i made some syrups with cane sugar this weekend for my grandkids to take home, or you can use stevia or whatever floats your boat. i am not using the xylitol to save on calories, but it does that as well. each 4-ounce bottle of sample concentrate yields a gallon of syrup. i make my syrups about a cup at a time. they are awesome tasting and making them with xylitol keeps cavity-causing bacteria out of my mouth. so fast, so easy, so cost-effective, so good. :)

Really nice little machine. It does require a little bit of strength to push down for the ice to come out but it's super easy to use. The ice is a bit more fluffy than the Shaved Iced trucks which is a bit more icy, this tends to melt the ice easier. I do wish it came with more molds to make ice since we could only make 2 at the time and one piece makes only 2 small servings or 1 decent more compact serving. We used it a lot this summer and still working great!

Comes with 2 small ice containers to freeze water into discs. It shaves the ice perfectly just as if we had gone to a vendor selling shaved ice at the county fair. It is very easy to use just pop the ice disc out of the container, put it in the top of the machine, replace the top and press down on the large gray button. I would recommend using both hands when pressing down to keep constant pressure pushing down on the top of the machine to help keep it steady going. There 2 drawbacks: one being its noisy and may scare your pet (our cat runs out every time we use it and our dog barks because she knows she's getting an ice treat. Two, it does not use the entire disc of ice, leaving a thin disc about a quarter inch thick which is fine for us as we break the and use it in drinks or give the whole disc to the dog who loves chomping down on ice.. We usually mix tea, soda or juice for a nice slush drink if we want flavoring added. Most of the time, just eat the shaved ice plain. I would not recommend using ice cubes, it will wear out the blades, strain the motor, and will not produce the same shaved ice as what the discs provided will make.. Overall its a great product for at home shaved ice without all the sugary syrup added from commercial vendors.

I had been wanting a shaved ice machine for some time and after reading reviews and comparing prices, I selected this one. It works well when you follow the instructions carefully. The key is to freeze water in the provided molds — using the prepared ice cups makes all the difference in achieving that fine, fluffy texture. I don’t recommend using regular ice cubes, as they don’t produce the same quality of shaved ice and can strain the machine. It proved especially valuable when a relative became ill and dehydrated — snow cones were one of the few things she enjoyed and could tolerate. It’s an affordable, reliable, and surprisingly meaningful purchase that performs just as promised.

Was looking for a tool to make fluffy, sno-cone ice at home and this is amazing! It comes with two containers to make ice discs and the machine is perfect for individual cups. I bought another six pack of cups to have many ice discs on hand. Also have a nice collection of syrups, and perfect for parties. The machine is loud while making ice, but not a reason I’d recommend another device. Five out of five stars!

The Hawaiian Shaved Ice S900A is okay, but it has a few noticeable drawbacks. It does make shaved ice and snow cones, and when it works, the texture is pretty good—soft and fluffy, just like a classic Hawaiian treat. However, I found it a bit inconsistent. Sometimes it struggles with harder ice, and cleaning the machine isn’t as easy as I hoped. The build quality feels a little cheap compared to similar models. It’s fine for occasional use or kids’ parties, but if you’re looking for a heavy-duty or professional-level shaved ice machine, this one might fall short. Overall, it’s decent, but not exceptional.
