I was surprised by how much lettuce I've gotten off of this thing! We usually eat salads 3 to 4 times a week for lunch, so I didn't really think this would be our only source of salad greens (considering we only have one of these, I can see why people would buy the larger one and multiples!). But it's really good for a supplemental source to our grocery greens. After 3 and a half weeks, I needed to harvest it because everything was getting so large. It was enough to make salads for my husband and I. And they were pretty big salads much to my surprise! The next day I had enough lettuce for a delicious BLT, all while keeping my plants still pretty large and healthy to grow more. Since I have it for about 34 days now, I've had some greens from it to supplement my spinach salads and have some more for sandwiches here and there. I really love this thing, and I put some small plants behind it so they, too, could benefit from its bright lights! My pictures show the AeroGarden after I harvested it for the salads ... show more

After 13 months of perfect performance (and wonderful herbs to boot), the display went blank (was still lit up but no text on it, and the on/off button was non-responsive). I tried all the steps trying to resurrect the display but nothing worked. I contacted AeroGarden's customer service and was most pleased with the rapid reply and the immediate replacement unit that was sent to me even though I was already outside of the warranty. It arrived missing a power cord, but I ordered this through the Amazon warehouse so it's not an Aero Garden mistake. I had a spare cable at the correct voltage so it works. It's very easy to set up and I love the timer feature. I can't wait to see my herb garden grow! Update: the picture on the left is after 15 days of planting. It's all basil. I can't wait to plant other herbs. 2nd update: the photo in the middle is after 19 days. That's only four days after the first photo was taken. I started my hers a week ago and they're growing faster than expected. Doesn't make any noise. Only downside is the instrument very basic. Any questions you may have to Google. Like I wasn't sure on the light so I turned it on when I started my plants and it stayed on all night. I pushed the light button at 6am so it would shut off at 11pm instead. ... show more

As long as you control the plants, it’s great. Feeding and watering is easy and you get herbs that have never touched dirt so you can pick them right off and add. Know the growth rate and what works. The included Thai Basil has no chill and need to be cut back once a week. I dry it in the oven and have a shaker full already ... show more

I'm not new to Aerogardens...ever since my hubby bought me one years ago for my birthday I've been completely hooked. I have a bit of a collection but this was my first of the new model Harvest and I love it. I got it specifically for the new Microgreens kit because I didn't want to tie up a Bounty and the kit wasn't compatible with my other gardens (old models and a Harvest Elite Slim). For context, gardening is not my thing. I'm terrible at it- the only plants I've managed to keep alive are snake plants and even those have come close to dying. My Aerogardens though are a whole different story- it actually makes gardening FUN for me with much less mess than digging in dirt, dealing with pests, animals, etc. If you're just getting started with Aerogardens, this is the perfect size (6 slots) and the stainless finish looks like a fancy kitchen appliance. I love the lighted digital menu making it much easier to read and set than previous models. Keep in mind that this one is not wifi compatible (at least that I can find). You can plant lettuce, herbs, flowers, and now even microgreens. I don't recommend tomatoes or peppers in this garden though- they will quickly overtake it. If that's your thing then definitely look into a Bounty that can accommodate the height and the spread. If you're on the fence about trying Aerogardens or even gifting one, this one is a great choice that will keep going and going. These are especially great for folks who live in areas that they can't have a garden or they may want fresh herbs/veggies that won't grow certain times of year. I have had nearly zero problems with any of my Aerogardens going on several years now. A few tips that seem to work for me: - I'm bad about reading directions but definitely read them if you're not familiar. They will save you a lot of missteps and frustration. - Between starting new gardens, I do a deep clean of everything. Just a handwashing with dish soap and rinsed very, very well. - Keep them watered (but don't overwater). These are hydroponic plants- if they run out of water they seem to die almost instantly and it will be next to impossible to revive (in my experience) - Feed the gardens on the recommended schedule - Keep your plants pruned and under control, this will help them stay healthier, fuller, and contained where they should be in the garden and not causing problems with other plants. - Definitely look into spacers (they're available on Amazon). They're recommended for tomatoes and peppers but I've found them really helpful for large herbs like basil so it has more room to grow. - Replace the filters in the water basins periodically. They last a long time but after a while they degrade, rip, etc. I'm a major Aerogarden devotee and don't think I could (or can) garden any other way. I've grown countless gardens at this point including peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, microgreens, cucumbers, basil, chives, sage, cilantro, oregano, you name it. I’m an avid gardener and I love the ease of growing my herbs right in my kitchen. So I ordered one of those after experiencing them at my school. The machine is great. They have a 100% grow guarantee. The only thing I have complaint about it my mint and thyme won’t grow. I’ve grown parsley, Oregon, 2 different basils but the mint and thyme won’t grow. I did call and get replacements for them and even they Wouldn’t grow. I would think it’s the machine but I’ve cleaned it all and started over and they are just there getting moldy. ... show more
