I normally take insects outside and set them free, but the crickets in my basement were well concealed, and I literally couldn't find them, despite the racket. I ordered these traps because I wanted an end to the noise. The package was very easy to open, with clear instructions on how to make the flat pack into a box-like trap after pulling off the glue seal. I did not touched the sticky part of the trap, but I'm sure it was sticky. It had no odor that I could notice, is completely silent, and most importantly... it caught the two crickets on the first day I placed it and my basement is silent again. I love that it's not an open trap, so pets can't accidentally step on it. I'm very grateful for the traps and their high effectiveness. The package came with two, but I only needed one, so I have another for some future need.

Every fall and spring I get crickets in my basement and the little traps are the best at getting rid of them. Easy to set up and kind of fun to see all the crickets sticking to the glue. Much better than trying to catch these hoppers! I keep a package on backup, as I never know when they will appear.

I had a cricket infestation in my basement. I put out two of these traps and by the next day I noticed I hadn’t seen any crickets. I checked the trap and they were all stuck inside. I am very impressed with how well this worked by itself. I already ordered some insecticide bait, but I guess I won’t be needing it anymore. I like that the trap encloses the sticky pad too, makes it safe for pets or children. I would highly recommend this product!

I bought these last year and the year before when they were about twice the price they are now and they worked GREAT! So I decided to buy them this Cricket season and did not get one Cricket. I'm wondering if they changed the glue or something because they were less money this year and they don't work. I was very pleased last year but not this year. I will search for another brand. Revised: I think this was my fault. I didn't remove the wax paper from it. I must have removed it the first year. The cricket season is pretty much over so I will buy next and let all of you know. Thanks

I bought 2 of the 2 packs of Harris Cricket Traps (2 Pack) to attempt to deal with a few annoying crickets that managed their way into my house in hopes of getting them out of their hiding places behind a TV stand and under a stairwell. It does advertise it will get them out of their hiding places but only one was successful after about a week. One under the stairwell the only way in and out of the area was a small hole and I placed the trap right next to it and for days it stayed in there chirping away. I ended up finding the cricket in the hallway a distance from the trap where I was able to shoe it. In all I hoped to get something more than what it provided, I probably wouldn't attempt again due to the low success rate I saw. Nothing was on most of the traps.

Update: I bought these traps for about $5 a few weeks ago, now they're $12. You may want to look for other sticky traps with more consistent pricing, such as the Terro traps. Original review: Every now and then we have found the odd cave cricket trapped in the deep sink in our basement. I wasn't too concerned until I found one hopping around in the pantry at the top of the cellar steps. Then I happened to get up in the middle of the night, and I killed one in the hallway, and another in the pantry. I guess they're like mice: if you see one, there are many more, and they're not going away on their own. We didn't want to call an exterminator because we didn't want to poison our house. So I ordered a set of these traps, and they arrived within a day or so. I put one near the basement sink, and another in the pantry. After about 3 days, the trap in the basement is FULL of cave crickets, and right now I'm too grossed out to go near it. I bet there's half a dozen in there. The trap in the pantry only caught one cricket, so we've been moving it around to different locations in the basement, and catching them one at a time. The good news is, we're not seeing them upstairs anymore, so I think we're getting the population under control. I'm ordering another set now.
