  • Works great on cave crickets but price has doubled...
Update: I bought these traps for about $5 a few weeks ago, now they're $12. You may want to look for other sticky traps with more consistent pricing, such as the Terro traps. Original review: Every now and then we have found the odd cave cricket trapped in the deep sink in our basement. I wasn't too concerned until I found one hopping around in the pantry at the top of the cellar steps. Then I happened to get up in the middle of the night, and I killed one in the hallway, and another in the pantry. I guess they're like mice: if you see one, there are many more, and they're not going away on their own. We didn't want to call an exterminator because we didn't want to poison our house. So I ordered a set of these traps, and they arrived within a day or so. I put one near the basement sink, and another in the pantry. After about 3 days, the trap in the basement is FULL of cave crickets, and right now I'm too grossed out to go near it. I bet there's half a dozen in there. The trap in the pantry only caught one cricket, so we've been moving it around to different locations in the basement, and catching them one at a time. The good news is, we're not seeing them upstairs anymore, so I think we're getting the population under control. I'm ordering another set now. ... show more

  • Worked in less than 48 hours!
I'm still shocked this worked so quickly. I was skeptical to say the least, but it worked! I laid out 3 of these and thought I'd keep the other 3 to replace in 3 months. I just ran into my basement for an unrelated reason and when I walked by one of the traps, I noticed it was occupied. So, I've decided to lay out the other 3 traps and order a 10-pack next to have these handy. Yes, the traps have an odor, but something has to attract these critters. I have a very strong sense of smell and I cannot smell the original 3 traps I laid out when I walk into the basement. (We'll see what 6 of them smell like but I'm not too concerned.) As far as setting up the traps, if you unfold them carefully, then pre-fold on the creases as suggested in the directions, before removing the cover over the adhesive, it's not bad at all. ... show more

  • Better than the molasses method
These traps are less mess and fuss than the molasses method. They were very effective in our garage, catching 30 or 40 crickets. They did not catch the single cricket we were after in our house, however, so a reduced rating for that. We will be using these from now on.

  • Caught the annoying critters
One of the most annoying things are crickets inside your house. The sound was driving us insane. Bought this product because there was a “guarantee” with the intention to return if not working. The traps worked and caught the crickets. Can now sleep in peace. One cricket caught within 24 hrs. The other one caught within 3 days. Havent checked the one behind the fridge. But the noise is gone. So thankful. ... show more

  • Got him the first night!
We placed the trap near a power strip because I read crickets are attracted to light and warmth, and I thought that's close to where I kept hearing him. He was making a racket right when I was trying to sleep, as if he was taunting me, and then..... silence.....blessed silence. When I checked the trap in the morning, there he was! Poor thing..... I know they eat other bugs so I felt bad killing him, but I couldn't find him to put him outside and he was keeping us all awake, so that's what had to happen. Great product! ... show more

  • Be careful during assembly
Glad there were two traps because following directions gets you into trouble. The 2 overlapping flaps need to be larger to clear the sticky pad. While trying to get the flaps together one slipped and fell permanently on the open pad and that made it totally unusable and I had to throw it away. It definitely needs a little better design like maybe assemble it first and then provide a built in rip cord to remove the pad protection paper last. I haven't caught anything yet as I only have one trap now. ... show more

  • Sweet, beautiful silence
I've had a cricket somewhere in my kitchen for weeks. I have searched high and low for it. For awhile, I thought it was my fridge making sounds. Was it? I'm not sure. I was losing my sanity. Sometimes it happened during the day or at night. Sometimes it would stop when I would come in and then start when I left. Once I heard the chirping and it metastasized in the back of mind, it's all I could hear. I couldn't sleep. It was just the chirping of the cricket. Always. Endlessly. The first night with this trap out there were no results and I thought I was doomed. This is my life now. Nothing could rid me of this troublesome cricket. The only thing left is to burn this house to ashes. Then, on the second night, I'm sitting at home and what do I hear? Nothing. Nothing at all. Beautiful. Blissful. Silence. I dug out the trap and what do I find? The one. Singular. Cricket. He looked at me as if to say "Father, is it over?". And I softly replied "No king lives forever, my son" and chucked his ass in the trash. Is melodramatic to say a five dollar insect trap changed my life? I'm not sure. But it did. 10/10 Would recommend. ... show more
