Top Amazon Reviews

  • Very real, legitimate Harris Bipod
I saw in the reviews a few people were getting fake bipods. Many weren't, but enough were that along with the lower-than-average price, it gave me pause for concern. After reviewing the price changes on camelcamelcamel (and emailing harris directly about it), I decided to take the plunge anyways and I'm glad I did. Its a very real, authentic, genuine American-made Harris Bipod. Bear in mind my frame of reference is only for very cheap bipods and even then it was on other people's guns. I did some reviewing and googling before settling on these and let me tell you, the features listed are no joke and really add to the quality of the bipod. Came in a clear plastic bag with paperwork from Harris. It's marked on the bottom with their name and the USA made stamp. Just open the package and its ready to go. Super easy to install and holds on tight. It's sturdy as hell. Feels very solid while being quite light (good for me as I have a heavy rifle). I sent about 20 rounds of 7mm Rem Mag down range and it couldn't be tightened beyond what I had done when I installed it. No shifting. No legs wiggling or falling or closing while shooting. The swivel makes a massive difference in ability to shift to different targets. I will be purchasing a pod lock though as I feel I don't quite have it tight enough. My rifle is quite heavy (12 pounds) and it WILL shift and move with a little pressure. That being said, if you hand-tighten the nut its not going to just flop around. It's easy to keep it still and level. I'd just rather it be a little bit tighter to really lock it in place and I just cant get enough leverage to do that without the podlock. The notched and spring-loaded legs are a huge improvement over others I've used. Easy and simple to manipulate with one hand whether you're raising or lowering them. Notches make it easy to get it locked into place. I got the 6-9 which for me was plenty of height for prone/bench shooting. Sling stud seems sturdy as well. I lugged the rifle around a good bit and it held on just fine. There is a bit of the bipod that digs into your back when you carry it though, but that was alleviated by tightening the sling up a bit. Overall, I'm glad I got it. There's a reason so many people recommend Harris bipods. Yes there are more expensive ones, but for sub-$100 I'll go with nothing other than Harris. Yeah you can get a bipod for $20-$30 dollars and it will probably be ok, but its no comparison when you get a quality bipod in. ... show more

  • Very Good, Solid Shooting BiPod
I saw several reviews that questioned authenticity but I can attest that this is a genuine Harris BiPod. Installation was easy and very secure attached to my rifle's sling swivel (CZ 457). I separately purchased the MIM S Lock recommended by other reviewers and will use it but honestly do not think it is needed. The knurled tensioning knob that it is designed to replace is not difficult to manipulate and does a good job for its intended purpose. The bipod is lightweight, strong, and very stable. This is a good value and I am well satisfied with my purchase. Recommended. ... show more

  • Great bipod, except...
Harris makes a fantastic product for the price you pay. This bipod is no exception to that. Sturdy and strong, works perfectly with one exception. I'm giving this a 4-star rating because of the functionality of the nut that tightens down the bipod to prevent lateral movement on the base. There is absolutely no amount of finger tightening that you will be able to do to prevent the rifle from being able to move laterally on the bipod. It's not a big deal if you're shooting medium range targets, but if you want to stretch it out past 500 yards, then you need a rock-solid mount to shoot from. This absolutely requires the purchase of an after market locking lever made specifically for this style of Harris bipod. That's the only way to get the mount tight enough so that there's no lateral movement. It seems pretty ridiculous to me that Harris doesn't just build these bipods with the locking lever in place instead of having the end user buy yet another piece of equipment to make it function as desired. ... show more

  • Perfect price point, even after you also get a lever lock!
Harris makes the least-expensive rock-solid, reliable 'professional grade' bipod. You can spend $250-$500, to get a little more performance...or you can spend less on a poor copy and get anything from much less performance/reliability to total garbage. - The "S-" (swivel) capability is well worth the extra $25, to let you align the rifle vertically on any surface. Your bullet drops a hundred or more inches at 300 yards, so just 7 degrees of scope tilt will cause miss distance of more than a foot. - With the "S-", I also like the "M" notched legs, especially since they're no extra charge! I can quickly get the legs adjusted to the right length and rock solid without having to tighten anything - they snap into a notch and you're done. - As others have said, a lock lever is also essential, though it must be bought separately. There's no "happy medium" setting in the original knurled nut. You need pliers to adjust it, and then it's either too stiff to let you adjust tilt, or too loose to hold position after adjustment. With the lever, you start loose, adjust your tilt, then swing it snug with your fingertips. Even with the added cost, the Harris is worth every penny. I always buy the Alpha Bravo brand of lock lever, though Amazon sells the MIM, which is probably as good. ... show more

  • Excellent quality
I was a bit hesitant to order this reading all the reviews that a customer recieved a knockoff or counterfeit one. They talked about getting it in a plain unmarked brown box. I was happy when I opened my box up to find a legitimate Harris bipod made it USA. The photos I attached are what a true Harris would come packaged in with the USA stamp on the back. This is my first Harris and I am really liking the quality of it. The legs are super tight and the hardware has a solid feel to it. Doesn't feel cheap like the CVlife bipods I've owned (which actually aren't bad for the money, but I was wanting something more solid with a tilt feature.) I know its going to perform well. ... show more
