Description

Harris Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is composed of 100% ground freshwater DE, with no additives. The product is made of the naturally occuring fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of algae that forms in freshwater. These remains are ground up into a soft, fine white powder that carry many different uses. It's chemical free and completely safe to use around children and pets. Harris Diatomaceous Earth is listed with the Organic Minerals Research Institute (OMRI) for organic use. It's mined in Nevada and packaged in Georgia in a 2lb airtight bag. Included in the bag is a powder duster, allowing for easy application of a fine dusting of powder. For every ten dollars in profit we receive for Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade, we have pledged to donate $1 to the Etowah Valley Humane Society (EVHS), a private non-profit organization that saves thousands of animals every year. Based in Cartersville, GA a short drive from the PF Harris manufacturing plant, EVHS aims to prevent cruelty, relieve suffering, and provide humane treatment for all animals in need. The organization actively works to eliminate root causes of suffering and acts as an educational resource for the community, with the main goal being to find a great home for animals in its custody. Below are a few of the impressive stats showing the impact EVHS has had on local animal lives in recent years: Rescued over 13,000 lives from Bartow County Animal Control since 2010 Helped increase the number of live animals pulls from Bartow County Animal Control from 69/month to 207/month - a 300% increase Assisted in decreasing the Bartow County euthanasia rate six years in a row Harris’ own Chief Financial Officer, Ed Brush, has been involved with the society for years. Seeing an opportunity to help a local organization doing so much good, PF Harris partnered with EVHS in an effort to combat animal cruelty and find deserving pets a loving home. We hope you will find value in our Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth while knowing that 10% of profits are going toward saving the lives of pets in Bartow County, Georgia. Powder Duster Included Use the Harris powder duster with extension nozzle for application of food grade diatomaceous earth. Once filled, screw the cap on tight and turn the duster upside down. Keep powder as dry as possible, as it will clump and not puff properly if wet. Also, be careful not to fill the duster to much when first starting out to prevent clogging. Flexible Body with Bellows Applicator Extension Fine Tip Nozzle Cap (Base) About PF Harris Our Story Problem solving has a long heritage at PF Harris. In 1924, two years after its founding, the company tackled the Calvin Coolidge White House, which had been overrun for years by roaches and water bugs. Harris’s product was so successful in eliminating the scourge that he was described on the front page of the Washington Times as a "vermin slayer" who has just fought a decisive, winning battle with a horde of cockroaches which infested the lower regions of the Executive Mansion. Over the course of the next few months Harris took “his final feast” to dozens of government buildings, including the Senate Office Building, the Department of Justice, the Supreme Court and Walter Reed Hospital. Success followed success: Each superintendent of the various buildings was highly satisfied with the results. The company today stays nimble enough to respond to changing market demands, leading the way in the development of numerous products, including natural insect repellents like Swamp Gator and Swamp Gnat which repel biting insects without using deet. Beyond the products it sells, Harris helps customers find easy and economical solutions to pest problems through helpful labeling, instructive videos and personal advice. It’s a brand with a reliable past and an innovative future. PF Harris is America’s oldest EPA-registered company. With more than 55 products, the company provides solutions to treat everything from roaches and bed bugs to scorpions and stink bugs.

  • HARRIS DIATOMACEOUS EARTH
Size: 2lb
I was stuck in a rut, fatigued, stressed tired all the time. I tried every supplement there is for my adrenal glands then I read about how people detox their liver and body with this. It rids parasites, toxins cleanses liver colon, whole body. Within 2 weeks I have lost 9 pounds, my nails have grown super long and are hard as can be. My skin looks amazing and my hair is super long. I have energy now and even though I have a super stressful job I am super calm when I work. This has also lowered my blood pressure, all I can say is I am so grateful I stumbled onto this. I take 1 tsp with cup of water on empty stomach first thing in the morning and then i drink another cup of water after that and I'm done. Easy, simple, economical way to lose weight, get your health back and have energy! ... show more

  • Ok, bought it to knock out a yellow jackets nest - TRUE STORY
Size: 2lb
***DISCLAIMER: (as if it needs to be stated) if you're allergic, or just don't want to get stung, I DON'T recommend doing what I did - I'm posting this so you can learn what NOT to do, lol. BE SMART*** Ok, with that said... I called Terminix to get rid of a nasty yellow jackets nest that was hiding next to our house in some monkey grass. They wanted $150. I said "no thanks" and that I'd take care of it myself. I did an internet search and saw some "buzz" (couldn't resist) about a natural treatment of using DE on yellow jackets nests -- I figured for a fraction of the price ($13), it'd be worth a shot. I read up on methods of "dusting" the entrance at night with the the little puffer thing, and I tried that, but after a couple days, they continued about their business and seemed to mock me as I stood in the distance. So, I figured I go all in and I dumped about a pound of DE on the opening of the nest, lol, and ran inside, I kid you not. I watched from my window and now they were obviously pissed, swirling about, looking for the jerk responsible. I waited a day and still saw a few buzzing about, but it did seem like their activity had gone down. After a couple more days, things were pretty quiet so I went over to the nest and didn't see any activity, but that's probably because I also saw that my dump and run "technique" resulted in a pile of DE that literally had blocked the hole, and thought (THOUGHT) "cool, maybe it suffocated them and they're all gone" and went about my business watering some flowers that were near it. Unfortunately, the hose disturbed the DE that was covering the opening, and apparently they all weren't dead as a very angry yellow jacket was now tagging my ankle, and a few others started coming out. For me, getting stung isn't a big deal (I'm not allergic), but I was a little pissed and I may have over-reacted. I took that hose, and quickly/carefully set it so the water would start pouring down the hole (and quickly got away, needless to say). I went inside to put some baking soda on where that one little punk got me (for me, baking soda works great). I left the water on for maybe 10 minutes, then shut it off. Later in the day, I came back to find... (see attached pictures!) Woo! Success! It looked like a nuke had gone off as they were literally piled up, dead! -- ha ha ha ha ha! (evil laugh) Anyway, I can't say with 100% certainty, but I think the DE by itself MIGHT have had some affect in reducing their population, but I do know they were absolutely wiped out from the combination of water and almost a pound of DE getting flushed down the hole which definitely expedited the process - I'm wondering if maybe the DE being in the water also aided in their drowning (I have tried to use water-only/drowning method previously on a different nest, to no avail.) It's been a few days, and they are still piled up dead at the entrance, and I have seen NO signs of life, no lingering bee, nothing. So I'm going to chalk this up as a success. So for me, for $13 and a sacrificial ankle, it was WAAAY worth it vs $150 from Terminix. But I also live live on the edge, so... *****UPDATE 9/12/19: They are still ALL dead.***** (Watered my flowers in complete safety today.) ... show more

  • Ended my roach problem!!
Size: 2lb
This was the missing ingredient in Project Cockroach Genocide. After a whole year of fighting the little bastards with bug spray and traps and scrubbing everything and worrying about poisoning the cat, I dusted everywhere in my apartment they could possibly be hiding and two weeks later ... no more roaches! AT LAST THEY'RE GONE, hallelujah. A+ product, should have bought it a year ago. ... show more

  • A very SAFE, clean, & highly effective tool for bugs. Comes with a puffer, at no charge, in the bag!!
Size: 2lb
If you have ever ordered DIATOMACEOUS EARTH before, you will probably understand why I am giving this company, and its product, 5 stars. When I ordered this stuff In the past (from ANYWHERE ELSE besides this company) the box would have DIATOMACEOUS EARTH all over In it, on the bag, and subsequently all over me! I dealt with it, because nothing's worked better! In case you don't know, DIATOMACEOUS EARTH is safe to use around pets, children, (humans of all sizes and ages), and it's a highly effective tool for bugs--PRETTY MUCH ANY KIND OF BUGS! We generally see those tiny little black ants a few times a year when the weather warms up here in Seattle. We have had RIDICULOUSLY warm temps (56 today, in the first week of February? It is VERY uncommon here!!), So I saw some little ants scouting, and my jaw hit the floor because it's very early for ants!!! No big deal; watch them, and puff some DIATOMACEOUS EARTH where they are, or are have been. They simply DO NOT COME BACK, AND MY GRANDKIDS & KITTIES ARE SAFE AND SOUND. I Absolutely love this stuff, because it is safe and effective --an absolute must!
