Quality: It's actually very sturdy, I was impressed with the general quality of this item. It looks just like it does in the pictures and the design would work well in most rooms. Be aware that it is very heavy though; I am a 5'4 115 lb woman and yes, I was able to build this myself but at great cost to my back, legs and hands. (Note - I did need my husband's help to get the boxes up the stairs though). Building Ease: I would not try to build this if you are not at least advanced at building furniture. I am not a professional but have years of furniture building experience and if not for that, I probably wouldn't have been able to finish this. Instructions: The included instructions were both straight forward but also not detailed. It's all pictures so if you are not sure about something, the instructions do not have any form of advanced explanations to help you through. You just have to rely on your common sense. Time: This took me probably about 6 hours spread across 2 days. I did not have a power drill on the first day and was able to complete about 75% before I could not proceed further. Pros: -If the hinges and such hold up, this felt sturdy to lay on, it didn't feel shaky at all. -Easy to open and close (but yes, still heavy!). -Fashionable design. -Great Price. Cons: -This was missing about 15% of the pre-drilled holes, I was able to make it work but you will need to be versatile in order to finish this. -The front/middle piece is very heavy, which is why it's surprising that that piece has the least amount of support. The legs are part of bottom piece, the only thing supporting this part is the drawer and hinges. Other: -Does not come with the mattress, you will need to get a tri-fold, nothing more than 6". -You will need a power drill but other then a screwdriver, I didn't require any other tools beyond what's included. -This is freestanding, no need to anchor to the wall. My husband slept on this last night and found it very comfortable. It didn't creak or make other noises. I will update if I find that it doesn't last but so far I am happy with it. ... show more

Veryyyyyyyy heavy. I have it under my TV so it looks like a entertainment center. No one notices after I put frames on top and such. The trifold and blankets and pillows all fit into the actual bedspace when you close it. The bottom cabinet is pretty big, haven't put anything in there just yet. It's so beautiful and huge. This turned out to be a nice, less expensive purchase for our spare room. The assembly definitely took several hours on my own (about 4/+). Seems pretty solid so far. The instruction leave a bit to be desired. I'm a handy gal so I could figure it out. The front panels are really way too heavy. Not really necessary for the weight. It looks nice and I functions.
