While I was shopping for a loft bed my primary concern was sturdiness. This bed looks rock solid sturdy in pictures. The fasteners to hold it together have metal on metal threading and a good amount of contact between wood and the little metal nubbins the bolts hold everything together with. Needs a good drill for putting in some wood screws. Should be fairly reasonable to partially disassemble to move. I haven't felt the need to but there's many joints where some wood glue would stiffen everything up and loctite on the threads wouldn't hurt. Without those my bed is satisfactorily solid and I've had no issues with creaking during any recreational activities. As far as assembly, it is difficult. This isn't in a bad way like it's poorly designed, I think it's well designed, it's simply not a trivial task to convert the three packages it comes in into a bed. Took my partner and I about a full day working together to get squared away. Don't try to do it alone, mating the corner posts to all the things that go between them at once would be a massive pain alone, with two people it's kind of annoying but very doable. Couples, approach the idea of assembling a large and complicated piece of flatpack furniture together with caution. The directions give you all the necessary information and nothing more, several pieces are very similar but not interchangeable, if you're not careful it's easy for poor communication to cause mistakes in assembly and a lot of frustration. Good wood, good fasteners, good design, comfortably rigid, I feel like I got a very good value for my money. If this sentence is still here I haven't come back to edit my review with any complaints that have come up. ... show more

This is a good, quality bed. There was no issues with shipping (though the shipping was understandably pretty expensive) and there was no damage to any of the pieces. All of the hardware was present. I'm happy that my son is happy with his new bed and I'll give the manufacturers 3 stars for making a quality product. But my god....the instructions were SO bad. There was the wrong numbers applied to the diagram, the wrong numbered stickers on the pieces themselves, and the actual exploded views of everything was just painful to see and I don't even have any sight problems. The baggies that the hardware come in are just little torn off strips of paper with numbers on them, so you really have to do a lot of trial and error to count the pieces to make sure you are using the right screws. And again, the DRAWING is just so absolutely miserable. When I am referring to the parts list, I expect the drawings to look at least somewhat similar to the actual piece of hardware. Nope. Most of the drawings are just generic screw clipart they must have downloaded from the internet or something, because they are not represented well at all. It took us 2 full days to put this damn thing together. My back hurts, my blood pressure is up, and I think I may have lost a couple weeks off of my life putting this thing together. For the price, I would have liked a little smoother experience in building it. So yes, if you want a good solid loft bed for your 9+ yr old kid, this is a good one to get. The worst product ever. Missing about 40 screws, parts didn't align. The only reason I kept it is because my daughter like it. Once we put it together, I cannot take it apart as it will fall apart. The assembly was not easy as described. Also, I left the instructions for delivery and they were not fallowed. The boxes were just left by the door without calling me or ringing the doorbell. Considering the amount I paid for the bed and the delivery, it didn't meet the expectations. ... show more

This bed is made really well. I wasn't sure how strong it was going to be when I ordered it and read through other reviews, but the wood is real wood and you can tell how strong it is as you are putting it together. The only issue we are having is with the ladder steps. They are secured by one strew on each side and there are no groves or brackets to prevent them from rotating, so they have a little movement when you step on them, but I added metal support brackets to each and that has helped stabilize them. ... show more

With help from my oldest daughter and her husband, we were able to get it put together in no time! The bed is nice and sturdy. No damage to it, the quality is a little on the cheap side, but it is what I purchased. The assembly was pretty smooth.
