  • Decent quality.
Size: 4"
Use it with my drill press. Nice and heavy, clamps up strong. Nope, not a $600 mill vise, but it is a nice vise at a nice price. Exceeded my expectations.

  • Nice drill press vise
Size: 4"
First keep in mind I am using the 4in on a drill press, so cannot verify the accuracy/squareness. It makes a very nice drill press vise though. I was really disappointed to see vee threads on the main screw. It should be acme threads. Also the handle is not plated, but instead painted which I dislike. On mill I use the knob on the end of the handle to tap the drawbar out, and this would chip all the paint off the end. It needs a good deburring when you get it as well. The ground surfaces to cast are not broken, and quite sharp. ... show more

I bought this for my mill and it works very well. Thank you.

  • Careful: razor sharp edges!
Size: 5"
The vise arrived today in a fairly beat-up box. Inside, the vise is shipped upside-down in protective styrofoam. But there was nothing protecting the vise base (at the top, as it's upside-down)! And there's a good inch of air space between that vice bottom surface and the inside top of the box, so I'm guessing that there SHOULD be styrofoam there. Perhaps this was a returned unit, re-shipped. Thankfully, despite the lack of protection of the banged-up box, the base surface seems OK. Just a few nicks that should stone out. While lifting the vice out of the box, I gave myself quite a nasty cut on my left index finger, right across the inside knuckle. After finally staunching the bleeding and getting back to the vice, I found (carefully this time!) that almost all of the top surfaces have razor-sharp edges. Nothing is deburred or filed or chamfered. So beware! I took a good file to all of the edges to knock them down. The vice itself seems really well made (apart from the lack of deburring), heavy and very solid. The mechanism is taught but slides well, with no grittiness. There's no sign of rust, and the paint is applied well. The jaws are 5 1/16 inch wide and it opens to 5 15/16 (not quite 6) inches. The supplied handle is pretty basic, and I'll probably make another myself. The "grade 8" bolts supplied seem OK but I'll probably not trust/use them. And one of the two supplied washers is D-shaped (manufacturing defect). No big deal. I don't know why all vices of this design tend to waste vertical real-estate, when every 1/4 inch of Z travel on a small hobby mill is precious. The base on this could easily be 1/2 inch thinner with no loss of utility. In summary: it's a good solid vice, good value, and there's a good chance that I'll buy another. But I'm knocking off 2 stars because of the poor packaging and my blood loss. ... show more

  • It's cheap alright.
Size: 6"
I wasn't expecting much for this price. I checked it on the surface plate and is base is ground alright and is just slightly higher on one side but usable. The front fixed jaw was a bit out of square but upon taking it apart found some cardboard/paper crammed in it. There is no thrust bearing on it whatsoever. The clamping mechanism as you can see in the picture is really sub par. Like whoever designed it didn't understand how a Kurt clone accu lock works. ... show more

  • Very nice, required a little fine tuning 👍
Size: 5"
Reviewing my new Happybuy 5" Accu Lock Vise. Vise arrived in a sturdy cardboard box partially filled with styrofoam surrounds, box was a little beat up but that's just from the shear weight of the vise and not having a styrofoam top liner (which should be included, that would have prevented all the shifting around in transport). Measurements (which everyone wanted to know) are as follows: 14 3/4" long without handle attached. 7 1/4" wide base flange to flange tips. 4 3/16" tall, 5" jaws, a big 5 7/8" max jaw opening (the ad only claims 5"), heavy 3/4" dia lead screw, 1 9/16" jaw height, 6 1/4" center to center base bolt down holes and a stout 36 pounds total. This is a very nice vise for the money. It arrived pretty clean (no metal shavings) with a very light coating of clear oil, all milled edges are razor sharp, crisp and very flat and smooth, the painted casting areas are nice with only a few sharp jagged spots. The paint job is great with a nice blue-green hammered look. The bag of included hardware is as others say a bit on the cheap side but that's not a big deal to upgrade and replace yourself. I spent about 3 hours cleaning, scraping, filing, sanding and oiling the vise. The entire inside lenght of both ways had some paint overspray on them that kept the jaws from moving easily. The two square cutouts up front had some razor sharp jagged edges that needed to be hand filed down to avoid seriously cutting yourself on. The entire bottom edge is also very sharp which I lightly filed and sanded back to avoid cuts as well. A very light coating of oil was applied to all bear metal surfaces to prevent rusting. I can turn the vise with just my fingers now without having to use the handle, which was impossible before fine tuning it up. I'm a serious diy guy and not a professional machinist so I'm not using this vise on a mill of any kind. I'm adding it to my big floor drill press to drill metals, plastics, woods, etc (I'm not using my drill press as a mill either, as it's not designed for side to side loading and don't recommend doing it). Overall this is a well machined heavy vise that should last forever if taken care of. I highly recommend it to a do it yourself person, not sure if it would fit the bill for a professional machinist or not. Rating it I deducted 1 star because of the amount of effort needed to be put into it. Four uploaded photos are attached. Hope this review helps you out. ... show more

  • Can't beat the price.
Size: 6"
Great deal at the price point, but as with anything like this from China expect to pull it apart and do some final cleaning and deburring as others have stated. Where gloves when removing it from the packaging or you will get cut. There is absolutely no deburring done on these vises. I purchased two since my mill table is 56" long. One vise had a dip across the face of the jaw that was only a couple tenths which is perfectly acceptable the other one took some work with a stone and file to get it into that range. ... show more

  • Very Nice Vise
Size: 5"
I did a lot of research and looking around before I settled on this particular vise. I tend to put a lot of credit into the reviews that others write about their experience with products that I am interested in. I start with the star ratings and the number of reviews a product has received before moving on to the written reviews. True... this vise didn't have as many reviews as I typically like to see but I checked it out none the less. When I first opened the package the first thing that I noticed and thought was kind of odd was the fact that they only put packing material on the top side and and did nothing to protect the all so important bottom of the vise. There was no apparent damage but certainly something they should consider going forward. I will give it a closer inspection to ensure there is no damage and for flatness before i secure it to my mill. Like others have said, this thing is a lot bigger than I expected, but since I have a full size mill that won't be a problem. If you have one of the bench top mills the size and weight of this vise could be an issue for you. The next thing I noticed is what I thought was perhaps a milled test block that had been accidentally left in the jaws. After I attached the handle and started cranking the jaws open to remove the block I realized that the block was the jaw when I saw the seam start to open. I clamped the jaws closed again and the seam vanished. The jaw faces are perfectly (as far as the human eye can see) machined. I have not yet attached it to my mill for a test run but I have no doubt that it will provide my desired outcome. Unless something unexpected and catastrophic happens when I put it in operation, and I seriously doubt that will happen, I would absolutely recommend this product. I am certain that one can find a much more precise vise, but for the home shop and at this price I think this is a very good buy. ... show more
