From covered and sun free to stargazing, this is the tent to do it all. My wife and I aren't mobile enough to go off camping anymore, but we have a great view of the Sacramento river and can now enjoy it all year round. The tent took less than 5 minutes to set up, and it was so easy. The tent is light enough for backpacking, so toting it around is a breeze. And speaking of breeze, this tent gives you total ventilation, if you want. My wife and I set up a couple chairs and a table we used for our USB powered air conditioner fan. The rain cover kept the hot sun off my wife while allowing great ventilation. Our dog Daphne enjoyed the sleeping bag we laid out for her. The head room really makes the roomy tent feel even roomier. At night, we took the cover off and had a panoramic view of the stars. When it comes to taking down the tent, it's even easier than the set up. Maybe next week we will roll out our power station and watch some t.v. I've owned a lot of tents and can honestly say, this is my favorite. It's a pleasure to carry, set up , and enjoy. Given the quality of materials and design engineering, the price is excellent. All those things make this tent/spare room Highly Recommended ... show more

I spent a good half hour setting up this tent in my living room to make sure it isn't a stinker. I do a LOT of backpacking and camping. This is not the tent I would pack in. It weighs almost 10lbs. There are better options for light 4 man tents. (kelty) The setup wasn't very intuitive, but it has instructions sewn into the bag so you can figure it out. It would be much faster with 2 people setting it up. The I'm a little worried about small bugs getting in as the mesh is more open than most tents I own. Might be open enough to let small gnats or noseeums or maybe really small mosquitoes in. Haven't put it to the test yet tho. It has a waterproof tarp built in, so that's cool. It is very roomy compared to most 4 man tents I own. My rule of camping is divide the number of people the tent is intended for by 2. i.e. 4 man tents is good for 2. A 2 man tents is good for 1, etc. This seems like it would fit 3 people pretty easily without their gear inside the tent, or 2 with their gear. It was easy to take down. A little difficult to squeeze it back into the bag. All in all, seems like a solid good tent, but I wouldn't pack it in anywhere unless you have a horse or llamas or goats to carry it. Probably perfect for driving somewhere and setting up a tent by the car... As long as bugs can't get through the screen. ... show more

    • Very Good Tent With Lots Of Space
This is a very nice tent, and it has lots of room. Enough room for a queen size air mattress, if you want. The head-space is a bit over 5' feet, and the width is 8' feet by 8' feet. Its incredibly easy to set up. It takes two people to set up in about 3 minutes, but you don't need two people to set it up. I can set it up by myself in under 10 minutes. It has a large mesh top for stargazing, and a nice rain fly, designed with a convenient zipper in the back. It even has an access port for any electrical gear such as fans and lights, if you camp with a solar generator. This awesome tent only weighs a little over 8 pounds, and is easier to take down, than to set it up. It actually folds up nicely, where you can actually zip the carrying bag! I really like this tent, I highly recommend it. For less than $80.00, its a real bargain. ... show more

My son will be moving out of our cabin and into his own tent at camp this year. I wanted a tent that was big enough for him to have a separate area for sleeping and his clothes/books/lamps etc and this is great. Easy to set up, seems waterproof but we always spray and maintain them throughout the year. Seems like it is durable and will be a nice first tent for my 10 year old. ... show more

    • Spacious design, sky view, easy setup tent
I love this tent, don't get me wrong! The tent is large for a 4 person tent. 1 person setup might be over 30 minutes, 2 person less than 10 minutes. 2 people with their gear easily fit inside, headroom is decent. I like to keep 2 tents on hand, and folding canopy as well. This tent is as good as my primary tent in most ways, and better for the panoramic view. I would love this tent camping somewhere like the Grand Canyon night skies! This is why I removed a star. The tent is too heavy for hiking. It's lighter than my main tent, but that's for long trips where we drive to a location, not hike any distance. The screen isn't as fine a mesh as my other tent. Only time will tell if that's an issue. You don't want any tiny insects getting through, including pinhead sized ticks or mosquitoes. Protection for those needs reapplied throughout, and the risks from them is something to avoid. We will test this tent out more seriously this year. But, only for drive up camping. Overall easy to setup and take down, spacious with excellent designs including installed poles and panoramic views. ... show more

So easy to set up. This is a breeze compared to the older style tents. Easy instructions for assembly. Folding back into the small bag was a little tougher but doable. The zippers opened and closed with ease. I wasn’t able to test out if it was truly waterproof. It looks like you can get a queen size air mattress to fit but not much room when inflated. ... show more

I have owned many tents over the years. This one is at the top of the list. With out the rain fly it is perfect for these hot summer nights with the sides and top letting air flow through. It was easy to set up and it actually fit back into the carry bag. This is now my go to car camping tent.

Decent little tent. Its fabric is adequate but didn’t blow me away. Setup is basic tent poles and isnt hard. The bag that it comes in is pretty thin and that could be a problem if it rips, which I think could be really easy. That was something that’s a bigger issue than some might think.
