Directions are good but I find it a little difficult to put it together. That being said, and the reason I didn’t give 5 ⭐️ (Also it doesn’t come with enough marbles I purchased extra, the cost should warrant a few more at least) my daughter loves it. This occupies her time and she enjoys it. I like that I can add to it over time. More expensive than some marble runs, but definitely worth it. The plastic ones may be bigger have more marble and may be easier to assemble but they tend to be more flimsy and fall apart easier. I know as I’ve had both. You also can’t normally add onto other sets easily. I like that I can buy accessories separately. ... show more

The track structure is very wobbly. The marble could not run the track, as setup described in manual, without some sort of stabilization of the track. I used Velcro™ spots to steady the structure and that seemed to help. It fascinated the 4 & 2 year olds.

My 5 year old is for the most part able to assemble it on his own looking at the directions. I helped him the first few times and now he is mostly capable of doing it himself. My one critique would be that there isn't anything to catch the marbles when they come out so be prepared to have marbles rolling every which way, especially if you have hardwood floors. I was skeptical because a lot of comments said it is wobbly.. So I searched amazon and this was the only wooden marble run, which is what I wanted for my marble obsessed 3 yr old. There were no other similarly priced ones. So we tried it out and it's not as wobbly as people said. Also it came with a booklet with instructions on how to build 3 different structures. I got it used too through Amazon Warehouse. So I paid 21 bucks for it. This is a steal. This toy does get easily knocked over so we only set it up on the kitchen table with nothing else by it. It is stable enough to handle all the marbles at once and it doesn't fall down unless somebody knocks it down with their elbow. ... show more

I've been purchasing toys from the Hape Company for my daughter for years, and there is a reason why...great quality. I am one of those nostalgic folks who appreciates wooden toys for kids. If built by a reputable company, they just last and wear beautifully. Loved this set. Packaged well. Wish it was more, but I'll just have to order a few of the other different ones so that we can have more pieces to build more variations. I purchased this for my daughter's 5th birthday (she's become obsessed with watching Youtube domino course videos.) I also purchased the "Wondertoys 600 Pieces Wooden Dominoes Set Building Blocks Race Tile Game" from Amazon as well to go along with the marble course for more fun. It still is a great hit. Very nice toy like all the Hape toys. Keeps the kids busy. BUT the packaging was damaged even though it was shipped in an Amazon box (that makes me think that someone returned it and then they shipped it in that packaging), one marble was missing and one marble was broken as shown in the pictures
