Since putting this mattress cover/pad whatever on my (2 months old new mattress) the pain has not reoccurred. Now it is only four mornings, but they have been pain free mornings. My ONLY quibble with it is that the description says that it is 3 inches deep. That is an exaggeration, I would guess 1 1/2 to 2 inches. I ordered this to help out with the softness of an aging king size Sleep Number bed. This topper easily fits over the mattress with no issue, and it's even large enough to go under the bed some distance so you won't need to worry about it somehow slipping off. It is night and day in terms of softness and cushioning after putting it on. You sink into it a little and the rest envelops you comfortably. So far, the "cooling" aspect of it is definitely better than others I have tried before, but since I can be a human furnace it can sometimes still warm up a bit.
