This is an update after using the meter for 2 weeks. - A fantastic bargain, hard to believe, a well-designed meter. I bought two more. - Automaatic mode works great. It can detect resistance to 20 megohms. Over 20 megs, use the manual resistance selection. Automatic figures out what it is connected to, and displays voltage or current, AC or DC, and resistance. Neat. - I am using lithium batteries. They work great, and will NEVER leak and destroy a nice meter. They have an initial voltage of about 1.8 volts and will remain up for at least 10 years at idle. Negatives: - Resistance display is to 1 ohm, not to 0.1 ohms as stated in the instruction manual. - Does not have the usual diode test function that shows a diode's forward voltage. - Reading a diode in AUTOMATIC mode shows a different resistance in both directions. But select MANUAL ohms, and it shows conduction in only one direction (as expected). So when conneccting actoss a diode, always use MANUAL resistance mode so that it will read infinity in the reverse direction, and a resistance in the forward direction (when the RED lead is on the ANODE side). The resistance value shown has no meaning, but it serves to show the direction of the diode. - The 'DIODE' icon at the top of the display NEVER comes on (except momentarily during power-up). So what is it there for? Maybe it is for a future DIODE mode (that is not available in AUTOMATIC mode) ? - The 20-inch leads are a bit shorter than I like. If longer, they would not fit as easily in the box.

Having a multimeter can be like having a magic wand. This one is really good and takes a lot of guesswork out of different scenarios. It's very automatic,but you do have to know a couple of things. This guy is great and has some super "high end" features at its price point. Absolutely an essential for any dyi'er. Period.

The media could not be loaded. I love the fact that this product didn't break my bank account like everything else in the world does lately and for the price, the overall quality down to the wires is excellent. The instructions were a little confusing & I ended up having to YouTube how to use this, but other than that I have no complaints. I highly recommend this product. It's definitely convenient to have this nifty little device in your toll arsenal. 10 out of 10!

Limited in versatility, but a fantastic bargain. All I needed for AC/DC voltage measurements in circuits and batteries, continuity checks, and measuring resistance. No need to drag out my Klein multimeter for repetitive, routine measurements. Accuracy? Close enough for me, given the simplicity of the tasks that it's required to perform (I suspect that the cheap-o test leads included with the unit contribute to its slight inaccuracy). One annoying downside is that the backlight for the display turns off after 10-15 seconds. Bottom line: If you expect a Porsche for the cost of a tricycle, forget it. But, if you simply need an inexpensive tool for basic tasks, then consider this one.

Does not work like a normal multimeter. I wasn't paying attention when I bought this, just needed a cheap multimeter, but I made a mistake in this purchase. "automatically" detects what you're supposedly measuring, making it give you random numbers you have no idea what they're measuring. Takes a full three seconds to beep for continuity. No markings on the unit for which leads go where. a manual which is in incredibly poorly translated, broken english. honestly just steer clear of this thing, it won't do what you want and you'll probably mess something up by using it.

If you need a meter for basic electronics such as checking voltages and resistance this cheap meter works fine. Downsides: budget quality probes, useful continuity bleep is a little slow to trigger, and out has an inability to measure small currents. The backlit display, flashlight and mains detection features are novel. And it’s cheap.

As an electrical engineering student, I find myself in the position where I am at the point in my education that will require the purchase of electronics and test equipment to perform circuit analysis and troubleshooting. A multimeter is a must if I need to take measurements on my circuits either at home or in university. What is amazing is that this multimeter can measure voltage/current DC, AC, and resistance. It is also ergonomic and easy to use and read the measurements in the LCD screen. It comes equiped with a small flashlight to look in dark spots (plush the LCD can light up). So coming from an electrical engineering student, I say that everyone should own a multimeter even if it will not be used for electrical engineering as they also serve to see whether your power outlets are working or if something is wrong with your breaker.
