It started and ran flawlessly first pull out of the box. All salt water use, within about 1/2 mile of my dock. 4hp powers my 12’ aluminum row boat well, sounds about as loud as a weedeater. came fully put together just a kettle gas and oil and it’s good to go, it doesn’t seem like it’s 6hp but for the price i can’t complain. gets the job done

    • This is not a name brand outboard so don't expect that. Should be durable with this type engine.
Have not run it in water but it seems to be a lot of motor for the money. After seeing it run in my shop I am very happy sofar. I wanted to build this style motor over 20 years ago and glad someone did such a great job for a reasonable price.

It’s alright. Definitely not a 6hp probably about 2.5. It moves my boat but don’t expect to move fast. Also I’m using this in tidal water. The corrosion on this after only 3 times being used is crazy. I wash it down after every time I go out and still a lot of corrosion already.
