I haven’t even used this perfect kit but I did test it out and, it’s AWESOME! I cannot believe that I’ve waited and made myself STRUGGLE with sewing/attaching my patches to my travel backpack for so long!! (Iron-on patches do NOT adhere to a Jansport backpack for anyone who’s wondering, btw.) I’ll try and update once I’m able to use it to secure my current patches but honestly, even if it doesn’t work well for the intended reason that I purchased it, I have more than a handful of other tasks that I can complete by using it. Ok, so now onto the product itself. It comes in a very well made wooden box that at first opening it, I was taken back to the days when my granddad worked with cedar wood. 🥰 It’s a compact/small(ish) wooden box with 3 compartments to organize your items. I did take out most of the thread it came with (it comes with a LOT!👏🏼), to make room for my patch collection & other items that I personally wanted in the box. Bottom line, get ya 1 if you’re in the market for something like this! 👏🏼♥️ (I attached a photo of the said backpack to show how currently they’re not at all secured. I’ve lost so many for this reason 😞)

I was impressed with the care that went into the packaging. Everything was bubble wrapped and then covered in foam and corner protectors were even used. The wooden box is a very nice quality and the engraving looked nice. The scissors are very sharp and made of heavy weight metal. The cardboard box and instructions are for the Handy Stitch brand sewing machine with a locking “on” switch. This machine is not a Handy Stitch branded machine. It is a knock off machine. This fact, and that the instructions were a minimized copy of the original instructions where they super imposed a photo of their machine over the original Handy Stitch brand machine image, made instructions confusing to follow and hard to read with small font and fuzzy images. Once, I understood this, I ignored the instructions telling me to lock the machine before doing certain things. For things that were too hard to understand, I goggled other people’s video instructions to understand how to make things work. Fortunately, it is a good knock-off and works mostly the same way as the ones in the videos. This is a single spool machine, so it doesn’t use a bottom spool. Single-spool stitching uses one strand of thread for a lighter, quicker stitch, good for temporary repairs and hems, while double-spool stitching uses two strands for a thicker, stronger, more durable stitch, ideal for buttons, high-stress areas, or decorative topstitching. That all being said, this machine works great for it’s purpose and overall I am impressed with everything except for the instructions. I would recommend this to someone looking for a quick to use machine, or small repairs.

The media could not be loaded. I doesn't work. I read all the instructions and even watched YouTube videos and I'm not doing anything wrong. It literally doesn't work. Sounds like a bad motor. I'm going to return it. If the next one works I'll update my review because I really love the box and all the accessories.

So I've not even used it yet but had to write a review. I ordered a different one and the bobbin and rotary wheel kept falling off as I was using it. I'm returning it and ordered this handy stitch one! This one comes with a very nice wooden box to store the machine and accessories in. The machine I can tell is already of higher quality than the one before. Everything stays in place where it should. Couldn't be happier with this handheld sewing machine!

Overall, I really like this handy sewing kit. It comes with everything you need to get started sewing, and it's super convenient having everything you need for quick mending or sewing jobs in one place. The wooden storage box is lovely but unfortunately, multiple typographical errors were made when they engraved the top. It says. to the best I can decipher, "Tem6n6ew call be betler". I think it was supposed to say "Tomorrow will be better" ... heh. Anyways, the wooden storage box is solid wood with a lovely pine scent when you open it. The outside is nicely finished (despite the typos). The box's inside is unfinished bare wood but nicely sanded. The handheld sewing machine is exactly what I expected (having owned these types of machines before) and stitches very evenly and with excellent tension. It comes with a nice selection of threads, needles, pins, a pin cushion, and assorted other sewing items all of reasonably decent quality. The scissors are better quality than I expected. They have a good weight/heft to them, are very sharp and cut evenly. Overall, this handheld sewing machine kit works great, is super convenient and a good value. Despite the typos, I'm really happy with it.
