The LCD screen shows the speed setting clearly. Three speeds: low for delicate stuff , medium for cotton, high for my thick denim hem. The high setting powered through without jamming. I charged it with my laptop while working. No hunting for AA batteries or wrestling with a power cord. Cord-free means I sat on the couch and sewed while watching TV. It’s tiny – fits in my palm. I tossed it in my suitcase for a trip and fixed a torn shirt in the hotel room.
