One of my daughter’s shirts ripped near the sleeve right before we were about to leave, so I pulled this sewing kit out instead of digging through a drawer for loose needles and thread. The machine does move around a little while sewing, so I had to slow down to keep the line straighter. It handled basic clothing repairs well, though thicker denim felt harder to sew through. I keep this little handheld sewing machine in the red leather case on the kitchen counter bc the kids are always popping seams in their pants or shirts allll of the time it seems. It is small enough to grab quickly and the 110 piece kit has every needle and thread color I seem to need for basic repairs and matches all the kids clothese. The machine sews through regular fabric fine but struggles a bit with thicker denim. The hand crank works smoothly once I get the rhythm and the case keeps everything together so nothing gets lost in the drawer. My hand does get tired after mending more than a couple items at once but ofc I'm tryna do the work of a heavy machine with this little one which handles the job just fine for me.

This handheld sewing machine is wellmade, feels sturdy, fairly easy to use and works well to make repair sews on my clothes. The machine requires 4 AA batteries, not included. It comes with a USB cable, but when attached does not power the unit without batteries (possibly just for recharging rechargeable batteries when loaded in machine?). The kit comes with very heavy duty and sharp gold colored steel scissors, which work well and many different colors of thread. The handheld machine is a little tricky to operate as it slides about the table I’m working on and would be better if had a way to lock it in place. The carrying case is fairly rugged. For everything this comes the kit is a good value for the cost.
