Nostalgic value = Immense Time killer = Absolutely Fun to play = Yes! Game options = 168 It's really that simple from an enjoyment perspective. I really like this thing so far. My only beefs with it are as follows: 1) High scores are not retained after shutting it off. Unless you plan on leaving it on perpetually, don't expect to see your high scores next time you pick it up. 2) The buttons (particularly the A/B/X/Y ones) are smaller than I expected. That said, I'm a big dude with big hands, so I'm sure this is just a personal preference for them to be bigger. They'll be fine for most folks I'd imagine. The smaller buttons also didn't really make it difficult for me to play, but just a tiny bit less comfortable. 3) No battery level indicator. There appears to be no way to tell if the battery is running out. That said, I've played it for around 5-6 hours so far without the battery running out, so I figure if you just plug it in when you aren't using it then you shouldn't have any problems. 4) Lots of games to choose from, but they seem to be in a random order in the list. I would have expected them to be in the list alphabetically, but they aren't which can make it annoying to find a particular game. 5) Screen is harder to see in high sunlight. This didn't really surprise me as it's a common issue with electronics, but I just thought I'd mention it. Overall, I'm happy with this game "console" for what it is, but the annoyances are causing me to give it 4 stars instead of a full 5. ... show more

This is an outstanding little gaming gem. There are a LOT of these game-boy like all-in-one boxes out there, and most of them claim to have 400-500+ games. Yet, there are at least 25% of those games are repeats or the same game with a different title, or are in a different language, or simply don't work. But still, for the price, if you can get 25 or 30 games that work and occupy your time, hey, it's worth the money. This one is different. It has a 168 games, and costs about $10 more than the others that claim to have 500. That seems like a rip off, right? Not so fast. Of these 168 games, there are only 2 or 3 repeats, and I think they are just different versions. ALL of the games work. ALL of them are in english. And, to top it off, the menu screen has a preview of each game so you can see what the game is about. But let's talk about the actual games themselves. Do you like space shooters? Gyrus, Gradius, Star Force, etc...How's about old flight simulator shooters? Yep. Super Mario 1 and 2? yep and yep, plus a couple of bonuses. RBI freaking Baseball! And it actually has Mega Man 3, Batman, Tetris 2, and even Spy Hunter. It has some rare but great games like Kickmaster, which you just have to play if you want great music and a slick challenge. There are a ton of games here that are worth the price. The game list by the seller is 100% accurate, and they don't lie or mislead you by saying there are 400 or 500 games when in reality a fraction of that. 168 games, but all of them work, all of them are properly emulated, and responsive as if you had an FC or NES right in front of you. And they are good games too. The D-pad takes some getting used to, because the diagonals are a bit sensitive, and make sure you use that turbo button to save the main buttons. It's lightweight but doesn't feel flimsy. Super happy with this. One of the best purchases I have made on Amazon in a long time because IT ACTUALLY WORKS. The seller should be commended for their honesty in advertising too. I don't see any other sellers on the site selling something like this, so if you were interested in a portable handheld game box with a LONG battery life and a ton of great games to pass the time for a great price, this is the seller to go to. The gaming console was supposed to be yellow. I got a black one with a huge scratch on the screen. Then, the hand held game didn't work unless it was plugged in and the cord had a short in it. My son still wanted to keep it because he thought he was doing so awesome at playing the games. That's when I actually took a look at the gaming console and I realized that my son wasn't actually playing the games! The games played on their own and my 5 yr old just thought he was playing! I was flabbergasted! I couldn't believe that we had been scammed! I immediately returned it after seeing that! So, don't waste your money. It's cheaply made, the battery life is terrible and you're not really playing the games...the games are playing themselves!! ... show more

Review by consumer, Joseph Lupoli: I bought this handheld game as a back-up to my original three-year old FC 168 games handheld console (which still works great). This was my fourth try for a back-up console. All four back-up consoles were unusable do to various hardware malfunctions right out of the box. I use the FC 168 Game Handheld Console to play only one single game: game: #20: World Cup Soccer. Unfortunately, with this particular console, the players go backward when I press the forward button, and the shoot/pass button does not respond at all. Now I realize that these 8 bit consoles are often hit-and miss, operational wise, on any given purchase. And I have no doubt that most of the other consumers have experienced no such problems with their game(s). It is, after all a very sturdy console with excellent graphics, and its operational buttons do not feel cheap or flimsy at all. And for that reason, I'm docking only one star from my rating. But I'll have to return the item--I'd rather not risk a replacement from this company. ... show more

This has become my son's favorite toy, and his friends love to share it as well. It has a good battery life and all the games you could ever want. None of the retro NES consoles I've found have Paperboy, but this does! Plus it has all kinds of weird games you've never heard of, and they are fun to discover. 4 stars because there is no battery indicator light or icon, and that's a huge drawback. ... show more
