We tried to play this several times. I had low expectations since it's just a battery operated game console. I'm not all that game savvy so I had my teen children try and they also struggled to get the games to load or change. It was very slow. Initially it wouldn't turn on and we tried several sets of batteries and wiggled the battery connections before it would turn on so maybe it's defective. The size is good for younger kids and the screen size and clarity is pretty good for what it is. I was hoping to get it to entertain the little kids on a road trip but it's spotty at best.

This is a nice little portable gaming system! Although there are no “first party” titles or big name games, this handheld electronic device does offer dozens of games that are a lot of fun to play! The unit comes with a rechargeable battery pack, but it also takes three AAA batteries. Either the battery pack can be installed or the three batteries; both will not fit t the same time. The battery comes with enough of a charge to start playing out of the box! There are an assortment of games—dozens. There are also a variety of game types included, everything from “match 3” games to block-falling games to simple, repetitive games. The unit is small and lightweight, and although there is variation from game to game, the screen quality is nice and most of the games have really nice graphics. Most of the games are of the “pick up and play” type, which is good if you want something light while passing the time, instead of something involved and heavy. Like most newer devices these days, the handheld console charges via USB-C. The directional pad works well, as do the buttons; although the unit itself is very lightweight, the buttons still feel solid and “clicky.” There is a speaker on the front, and the sound is nice and clear, and although there is no card slot for changing the firmware or adding games, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, a volume knob, and a dedicated power button. For some reason, there is a compass embedded onto the back of the handheld, but it doesn’t take away anything from gameplay of any of the included titles. This is a cute device, and seems sturdy enough for a child to use. The games are also appropriate for children, from what I’ve seen. Of the hundreds of games installed I’ve tried a few dozen, and haven’t encountered any issues with the game software. I did take off a star because although there is a little paper with instructions, there is no information about each of the individual games. The games also seem to be oddly and/or generically-named—“Move Box,” “Balance Ball,” and “Divide Cookies Evenly” and their titles don’t always reflect gameplay. Some games are intuitive, but others you have to just click around and depend on trial and error to play them. This might be frustrating for little kids, but adults should be able to figure things out with little trouble.

I knew this wasn’t a Gameboy going in, I just wanted something small and affordable to keep my kids entertained in the car, and this fit the bill perfectly. It’s been a hit so far, and my daughter even prefers it over her tablet. I really appreciate that it can run on either the supplied rechargeable battery or AAA batteries, which gives me more flexibility on the go. Its easy to pack, fits small hands and holds a good charge. The screen is basic, as expected, but it's clear enough for the games to be playable and fun. I havent noticed much lag on the screen either. There are tons of games preloaded, and we haven’t even gotten through them all yet. The racing games are currently the favorites in our house. For road trips or casual play, this is a great low-stress option, especially since I don’t have to worry about it getting lost or damaged like a more expensive device. The games are a bit basic and it didnt interest my 7 year old as much but its a fun device for now and then. While the screen and build are pretty simple, the overall value and entertainment it offers make it a great choice for younger kids.
