  • A Pocket-Sized Time Machine with Serious Retro Cred
Color: Blue
I picked this up expecting a cheap novelty, and what I got is a legitimately fun little gaming machine. The screen quality is surprisingly sharp for a sub-$30 handheld... colors pop, text is readable, and there's no annoying flicker or ghosting like I've seen on other budget consoles in this price range. The sound is decent too; it won't blow anyone away with bass depth, but the chiptunes come through clear and crisp, which is exactly what you want for 8-bit and 16-bit classics. Plug in the included earbuds and it's even better. The built-in game library is massive... hundreds of titles spanning arcade, puzzle, action, and sports. There's genuine variety here, not just 300 slightly different versions of the same block-stacking game. The controls are responsive and comfortable, with a D-pad and buttons that have a satisfying click without feeling mushy. The blue shell is lightweight and fits naturally in hand, making it perfect for long car rides or killing time in a waiting room. The rechargeable battery lasts through extended sessions without dying mid-game. Pros: The screen quality is the standout feature... clear, bright, and surprisingly sharp for a budget handheld, making retro games genuinely enjoyable to play. The game library is extensive and varied, with enough quality titles across genres to keep you engaged beyond the novelty phase. The sound output is clean and faithful to the original chiptune era, especially through the included earbuds. The lightweight, compact design is perfect for travel, fitting easily in a pocket or backpack. The rechargeable battery eliminates the hassle and cost of disposable batteries. The micro SD card slot opens the door to loading your own ROM files, turning this from a fun toy into a legitimate retro gaming library. Cons: The menu navigation can be clunky when scrolling through hundreds of games; the favorites feature helps, but it takes some upfront effort to curate. Some of the built-in titles are filler or repeat variants of the same game, so you'll need to sift through to find the gems. The graphics and gameplay are intentionally retro and simple, so anyone expecting modern visuals or complexity will be disappointed. The included instructions are minimal—a single translated page, so figuring out features like the SD card slot or favorites menu requires some trial and error. It's affordable, the screen is clear, the sound holds up, and the game selection is genuinely fun to dig through. Whether you're reliving your own gaming childhood or handing it to a young one for their first experience with pixel art, it delivers hours of entertainment without needing Wi-Fi, downloads, or a subscription. Five stars for packing so much retro joy into such a small package. Enjoy! ... show more

  • Decent little game impressive amount of options even if they aren't all actual games
Color: Blue
For the price this is a nice little game for all ages. I almost gave it 3 stars but I haven't even played most of the games yet so that doesn't seem fair HOWEVER I noticed that some of the "games" just seem like throw away code and there is no point to what you are doing it's just like catching balls from the sky but no points are happening and no real end to it you're just kinda ....bored ? The good news is there are enough actual games to play it feels worth it. I think $29 would be the ideal price though. It's very light and the screen can be hard to look at or decipher at times but that could be my aging eyes. It has a kind of holographic appearance I'm not sure how to explain it . I like that it has games like poker, solitaire, chess but it also has some funny doupes of other games like segas super bomber man, snake, bust a move, Tetris, and blorobaby so many more I haven't breached yet. I've played it for a few hours and haven't charge it at all yet. The sound can be loud but it does come with little earphones if you want to listen to yourself too. Nice to have on hand to kill time or distract kiddos without risking losing or breaking a more pricey system. They probably won't like it anywhere near as much but the novelty of it having hundreds of games is enough to keep someone occupied checking them each out just in case one is super fun. long charge, high volume but easy control, cheap light plastic feel but works well. ... show more

  • A fun little blast from the past
Color: Blue
As someone who grew up playing classic video games, this handheld immediately brought back a lot of memories. I picked it up expecting a little nostalgia, and it definitely delivered. The biggest selling point for me is the huge variety of games included. There are plenty of retro-style options to choose from, so when you get bored with one game, there's always something else to try. I found myself saying "oh wow, I remember this" more than once while scrolling through the library. The screen is bright and clear, especially considering the compact size. The handheld itself is lightweight and comfortable to hold, making it easy to play for longer sessions without your hands getting tired. Battery life has been good in my experience, and I appreciate that it uses USB-C charging. It's one less random charging cable I have to keep track of. This would make a great gift for kids, but honestly, I think adults who grew up with older gaming systems may enjoy it even more. It's perfect for killing time while traveling, waiting for appointments, or just relaxing on the couch. The controls are responsive, the system is easy to navigate, and the included games provide plenty of entertainment right out of the box. Overall, this is a fun little handheld that delivers exactly what it promises. If you love retro games and enjoy a bit of nostalgia, it's easy to get lost playing this for much longer than you intended. ... show more

  • Lots Of Game Play In A Compact Console Lots Of Game Play In A Compact Console
Color: Blue
This is a Vine Customer Review of a free product. I gave this handheld console a 3 star rating instead of 5 based on the difficulty and the annoying sounds that the games are programmed to make. Now, don't get me wrong, I could turn the sound off- but that is part of the fun of the games and it also serves as a warning for potential nemesises appearing or to let the gamer know if they are doing well and coming to the finished of their quest. As for the game play, it has little to no instructions or directions on what you need to accomplish in the game and what the goals are. I played the pilot fighter game and I was flying around buildings and landscapes, seeing absolutely zero threats or bad guys and just randomly shooting at whatever I flew by within a certain perimeter. I have no idea if I won or lost, the game just eventually ended with a score. The graphics are set to be blocky and fuzzy as if it is an old console and holds high nostalgia. It does well at keeping me entertained with numerous games, but if they were easier to understand and possibly win, it would be much more exciting. The look of the console reminds me of a Gameboy, or just a controller from the 90s and it has a nice size screen and a lot of colors. It's a cute gift for kids and adults, with a fun nostalgic look. The numerous amount of games would keep someone busy through a boring car ride or trip for sure. The battery lasts days which is impressive and the screen is easily cleaned with a wipe. ... show more

  • Good fun, pre-installed games are OK, easy to bring your own games. Good fun, pre-installed games are OK, easy to bring your own games.
Color: Blue
This unit resembles one of the hand-held consoles from years gone by, and all things considered, it does a pretty good job of entertaining the kids. There are literally scores of games (pun intended) installed on this unit and it will take the kids hours to fully explore them. That said, none of the games feel especially engaging. Most of them feel like the mechanics of some classic games with reskinned graphics. The screen has a very good resolution and the games look great, but it's also a little small and difficult for my old eyes to see on some of the games. To me, this is the type of item that is purchased for a long trip to keep the kids occupied when the phone is in airplane mode. Based on the overall construction of the game and playability, I'd say that this is a good value at the current price of $30, but I wouldn't be surprised if my kids lost interest in the pre-installed games after a single leg of our summer vacation trip. I haven't tried loading any other games to the unit yet, but as soon as I do I'll be back to update my review with the results. Update: I located a ROM and placed it on a microSD card that I then installed in the slot on the game. It worked easily and beautifully. This changes the functionality of the unit substantially and easily makes it a five star product at a great value price. ... show more

  • Entertaining in its own right Entertaining in its own right
Color: Blue
This has a really nice screen. Build quality is decent. Battery life is 4+ hours of intermittent play. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with any games that anyone has ever heard of. The controls are average for a handheld like this. It has a Micro SD card slot, implying you can add games, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to load the ROM files. I let my daughters play with it and the 4 year old found it fun. Overall it's not a R36S class device, but it is entertaining in it's own right. ... show more

  • You can install your own games (rom files) on a micro sd card. You can install your own games (rom files) on a micro sd card.
Color: Blue
This is a Nintendo emulator for 8 bit and 16 bit games. It included a USBA to USBC charge cable, a pair of ear buds and one page of translated instructions. It included a ton of built in games, but it's real purpose is to play all of the old classics. Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, etc. You just need to download the ROM files onto the root directory of a micro sd card. I dumped a 1000+ games onto a 16gb sd card and used <25% of the card space. If you search for keywords like nyaa nes rom collection you will find the rom files. Just unzip the the collection and place the files into the root (first) directory of the flash card. Slide the card into the slot by the power switch and turn on the console. There will now be a new main menu option called Other Games. That is where your new games will be. It's really hard to scroll through hundreds or thousands of games so they added a favorites menu. When you find a game you like you can add it your favorites menu. You have to provide you own micro sd card and rom files, but small (4-16gb) cards are really all you need and they don't cost much. This is a perfect thing to keep in the car as part of your "emergency road kit". ... show more
