This is a nice linen drum fixture. The drum feels like real fabric. Its simple lines and unobtrusive looks would work well in just about any room and it would fit with a wide variety of styles. Many of the product photos suggest that there is a space between the fixture and the ceiling. That's not accurate, the fixture and the drum sit tight to the ceiling. Installation is straightforward if you have some diy know-how and a screwdriver. The fixture is installed as one whole unit which makes installation a little trickier than it needed to be. The only assembly required is the installation of the plastic diffuser on the bottom after the fixture is mounted to the ceiling. The plastic diffuser sits high within the linen drum which causes a hotspot ring on the top part of the drum. Very evident in one of the other reviewer's photos. Minus 1 star for that. I purchased the 3000k color temp fixture. That advertised color temp is feels accurate. The fixture is dimmable which helps to dial in the amount of light I want. At the time of this review, the fixture is for sale for $46 which seems a little high. It's a nice fixture for what it is but If the hotspot ring was addressed this would be a great fixture. ... show more

Installation of these flush mount lights are always a bit tricky, but that's just the nature of these things. Generally speaking, you remove your old light, disconnect two or three wire nuts, and replace the old light with the new one. This light includes the mounting screws (which I never use; I always use the existing ones) and some wire nuts (which is appreciated). The light and the color temperature is exactly what I wanted. I installed this in a downstairs 3/4 bathroom and it looks lovely. Overall, highly recommended update to your 90s gold-plated lights. ... show more

This ceiling light installation is as easy as other average flush mount ceiling lights. The light weight of this product makes it easy to hold up while doing the wire work. It comes with parts for wiring. The brightness of this light is what I like the most. I placed this in a hall way closet where it is usually dark because there are no other bright lights near by. It lit up the closet so I can see small things easily. Only thing I wish it was different about is the center plastic over height. It is closer to the ceiling than the fabric side skirt. The actual light comes down about 1/3 of the fabric side and there is 2/3 of empty void. It is not functionally degrading but personally I like when the light fills up the whole volume of the fixture. But it is not a deal breaker at all. This is a great light with good value. This is a fairly generic, imported LED light with the added hassle of having a poorly made 'cloth' shade around it. It comes with wire-nuts, mounting screws and instructions. Like most of these units, the screws are just long enough that you can't draw them tight in a ceiling box. They bottom out. That means the light will rock slightly, unless you happen to have shorter screws available. Once the unit is mounted to the ceiling, the ordeal of attaching the 'frosted' plastic dome to the light can begin. Because of the way it's designed, with the shade up tight against the light frame there is no room to put your fingers around the dome in order to twist it. I eventually succeeded by using a suction cup puller on the center of the dome and rotating it with that to lock it in. For all the trouble of installing it, it is just not worth it. It's dim, is NOT dimmable and quite frankly looks really cheap. ... show more

This light was straightforward to install if you have installed lights/fans in the past. Relying on the instructions may not work for a novice. They are not that great and have spelling/grammar mistakes like so many items sold on Amazon these days. The light is bright and the 3000K color temperature is good. From afar the light looks really nice, but up close it is definitely bare bones, with a plastic light cover versus glass like you might find on something more expensive. Overall, I like this. One nitpicky bit of feedback is that the light does seem to be directed more downwards than I expected; the light isn't as even throughout the room as I hoped. It's not bad, but I notice it. The other thing is that the plastic part looks pretty obviously plastic. I had hoped that it would be a bit more glass-like when it's on. But I suppose most people don't stare directly at the light when it's on, so maybe it's not a big deal. ... show more

I think the lamp itself is attractive and is very bright. * Very bright and actually too bright for my hallway application. May install a dimmer. * Per the website it is dimmable but there is no mention of this in the instruction sheet. * There is no UL tag on the device or the instruction sheet. Seems fair to get it UL certified. * Fit flush with the ceiling. Some similar lights have a mount then the shade sits off the ceiling. * For an overseas product I think the instruction sheet is written well (but wish included the items I listed above) ... show more
