I’ve had at least 6 Nespresso branded machines in the last 25 years. Usually the Citiz, one lower in the line, one larger one ($’s). The first lasted 5 years, the rest perhaps 3. We draw 6 to 8 per day. I got tired of paying Nespresso good money for questionable product. So I bought an inexpensive, non-Nestle machine this time. Surprise, surprise, this Hamilton Beach pours the best Nespresso I’ve ever had from a Nespresso capsule machine. The temp is definitely higher. I suspect this Hamilton Beach is not sold in Europe and does not need to meet Europe's stringent energy usage regulations. So the boiler is heated up to where it ought to be to pour espresso. Others have noticed with no prompting, both coffee snobs and us less accomplished souls. Build quality is mixed. It looks great but is a bit less stable (two handed operation recommended). Material quality is also a bit thinner than a Nespresso. Paint and fit very good, switches and cord very good. One year later: This machine is great. Up to 5 stars. Runs fine. We consistently get remarks from people complimenting the espresso. The machine still runs hotter than European/EU machines and the pour is noticeably better.     • Clean water and proper for care for a long life

At first this little machine worked great. After a couple months it started to produce smaller amounts of espresso per pod, and eventually not produce any. The PODs were being pierced, but nothing came out. I cleaned it using a descaling solution i got here on Amazon, but it refused to work. I then disassembled it and cleaned it throughly. The problem was a buildup of white residue from the tap water. Since then I have changed how I used it and it has not had an issue in over a year. Daily use of at least 4 pods. First, only use filtered water or otherwise clean water. Second, with no pod in the path, run an Americano amount of water through it into the drip tray to clear out coffee particles. Lastly, make sure to dry it out completely. By this I mean to pump the handle a few times to spit out the water that remains in the nozzle. Empty the tray of pods and water then leave the tray out to allow the internals and the tray to dry. Conclusion, use clean water and properly care for it and it will last for a long time to come. I use this in my classroom all day! I use the original pods from Nespresso and this machine is so easy to use and budget friendly! I love it. It's a little noisy at first but, takes only a few minutes and I have a beautiful beverage. Good deal!

I've been shopping for a expresso machine for sometime as I have never had an expresso machine. I found the Nespresso option which is nice because I don't have to do all the extra work. However I did look at numerous Nespresso machines and from various reviews I decided to try this one. Added bonus this one was cheaper than the other options! The machine is super easy to set up and figure out of the box. Good quality material. And it makes delicious expresso! It is a little noisy if you are worried about that however when researching other machines I believe they are louder. (Videos show them sounding like an airplane) Anyways! If you are looking for a Nespresso machine I'd recommend this one! Note For Improvement For A Newer Model: Make it height adjustable. The short space between the brew head and the drip tray is pretty small and doesn't allow a lot of versatility to make various drinks without having to pour the expresso into a different cup. ... show more

Just add water in the canister, pop in the capsule, and the coffee brews in a minute, literally! It's OK - picked it up in a pinch while my Breville is under repair. Creama is weak with this, and lots of grounds make their way into your cup. It's cheaply made plastic, but about what you expect for the money. It's getting me through my crisis of the Breville being out of commission!
