I've waited 2 mos to write my review, wanting time to give it a thorough workout. It passed with flying colors, starting with a batch of chocolate chip cookies in under 8 mins (first things first is my motto), followed by a scrumptious rotisserie chicken. A couple wks later I did our 5# Christmas prime rib roast on the rotisserie, which it cooked to perfection despite my inexperience with a rotisserie. Since then I've rotisseried several more chickens and a pork loin roast. It does great on finishing steaks started in a skillet too. I'm looking forward to doing a turkey in a few weeks. Also, I saved and then roasted or broiled all the bones to make beef stock and chicken broth. The oven has met or exceeded my expectations on non-meat food too, including many more cookies, several cobblers and slow-bake cream pies, a dozen loaves of bread and lots of cornbread. Brownies and a birthday cake are on the list for next month. I've dehydrated celery, carrots and yams, and made jerky from chicken, venison and javelina. It always seems that no matter the product being purchased - oven, washer, fridge - most times, compromises must be made. In this case, I really really really wanted an interior light, and several of their models do have one. However, my primary needs were for a large capacity, a rotisserie and unlimited cooking time, all of which this model gives me. So I settle for sticking a flexible magnetized cordless light to it, next to the top dial, and remind myself that I got the features I most desired...and at a bargain price. Some general pros: This is a basic oven - it doesn't set the table or do the dishes, no air fryer, toaster, etc - but is exactly what I wanted. Although the outer front and top get as hot as any oven, the sides are well vented and barely warm. I have no problems with butter, bananas and tomatoes 2 inches away from one side, and a jar of solidified bacon grease and creamed honey on the other side. I have limited counter space so appreciate that I needn't worry about carelessly setting things too close. Cooking temps hold steady and accurately but I relied on a thermometer for a couple weeks until I was sure. The temp setting is by means of a variable dial marked in 50-degree increments rather than a digital readout but I'm comfortable with that. I like being able to easily increase or lower the temp by 5-15 degrees to control the amount of browning instead of covering food with foil. To compensate for convection cooking I routinely set temp 25 degrees below whatever a recipe calls for and reduce time by about 10%. I recently discovered that I can get additional browning of baked goods without cooking them longer simply by putting the pan on the included baking rack rather than on a wire rack. I don't make toast but if I did, I'd put the bread slices in this pan. The timer can be set up to 2 hrs or unlimited - a hard-to-find feature in countertop ovens. Cons: There are only two. The light I already mentioned. The other is that the chrome, including the knobs, is so bright that it's hard to read the settings in certain lighting unless I angle a light so that it hits to either side of the knobs. The size and font of the black letters and numbers get lost in the shine. All in all I am very happy with my convection oven. It wasn't my first choice, or even my second, but I'm so glad it's what I decided on to replace my 35 yr old Sharp. A good oven is like a reliable friend! I expect this relationship is going to last a good many years.

Great oven for polymer clay

This was recommended by a polymer clay studio where it was used for workshops. Biggest selling point was that they claimed it held a stable temperature. So true! I only have to check it a few times during an hour clay bake and occasionally adjust 5 degrees or so but it usually stays on the mark once it gets there. Heats up quickly. Lots of room inside. I like the dial temperature adjustment over digital because I can adjust the dial in smaller increments than I could with the digital models. While the oven does get warm on the outside, mine has a shelf with items on it about 5-7 inches above and below the oven and those items have never been more than slightly warm when the oven has been in use for a while. Best clay oven I have had so far!

Forget about the convection. It works great.

The convection fan failed within a few weeks of use. There is a hot spot on one side since day one. However, the extra large interior, compact, attractive exterior, and the fact that it has all the timing configurations that I require, make it the favorite of my last four countertop ovens. Also, no fooling around trying to get the door to close, as in some others. I bake EVERYTHING in it, and the food comes out as planned, (tho it did take a little while to get used to its temperatures, since the numbers on the dial are theoretical). Only drawback is how hot the exterior gets. But even then, I have a silicone mat on top, and I can keep other things hot while baking by putting them on top. Like two ovens in one😁

Long and low, no fear of melting the above cabinetry, wide enough for lots of stuff, cannot believe the speed with which things cook, the convection is incredible, No fancy dehydrator, or spit that I would never use....just exactly what it says it is, a toaster oven. I will say one thing though, the handles are so round you can't turn them on and off if your hands are the least bit wet or greasy, I would put some sort of shape to them... All in it's money well spent, I sent three toaster ovens back to Amazon , too tall, too big, to fancy, so if it's just a toaster oven you're looking for, this is the one...and the price is incredible as well..

Just received this oven today and ofcourse I had to try it as fast as I could, I bought it to go in motor home as my motor home only has a Microwave convection oven in it and when I bought it used the convection oven part did not . I thought what am I going to do without an oven as I do like to bake when I go camping. I was laying in bed then it dawned on me I could check into countertop ovens. I was so very pleased when I saw this one as I didn't need a toaster over I wanted an oven so this is even better has both functions,regular oven or convection. So first I had to try something in it before going to the motor home, so all I had was some tator tots they turned out perfect in the regular oven part.I want to try bisquits also as I do them a lot while camping. the Rotisserie was just an extra bonus which I will probably have to try.Infact I think I will just leave it in here until I need it in motor home!!! For the money I was so impressed!Had to add another picture of bisquits I just made using the convection part, they turned out great!

I am one of the last guys who would say something's the best because there's always something else better. This toaster oven, however, is THE BEST! Believe me, I've had quite a few over the years and most have been good, some decent, and some just plain sucked. This toaster oven is big, it can hold a real sized pizza, and with a little lowering of the temp from what the manufacturers would suggest, cooks to perfection. Now, I have not used the rotisserie and I never will. That's not why I bought the oven. But for lasagna or chicken and rice and of course, pizza...the best and some other things I don't have room to write, this is great. You can bake some things in it too but hey, my chef days are long since past and I like simple meals now. Good for the money and good for the palate, who else can I say?

Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven 31103DA, think twice about buying this baby!!

I bought this Toaster oven thinking a WELL known brand would yield a good lasting product. This was not the case. I bought it in May 2025 and it failed on August 2026. I tried to repair it but couldn't find the parts, mainly the bottom heating element. Apparently Hamilton Beach doesn't want to sell the part, they want you to buy another unit. We are not buying another Hamilton Beach product again. Other comments: During the time it did work, it was difficult to see the food inside the oven-there's no light. Also, it gets very hot all around specially the door. This caused several burns!!! It looks nice, easy to operate but NO way of repairing a simple heating element!!
