Ok hear me when I say I have tried a few. I eat ALOT of eggs, most days I eat at least 4 for breakfast and usually more throughout the day. I am often making hard-boiled eggs for making deviled eggs. So I have tried a number of different brands and this is it for me. Each different feature works well and gives the desired results but I use it now simply for the hard or soft boiled egg option. I find it easy and simple to use. The READY tone is very loud which is perfect. It's durable, super easy to clean and honestly a joy to use. It's small without being tiny and fits well in a smaller kitchen. Would also be quite convenient to take on a road trip if your hotel doesn't include breakfast. I have had this one for 2 years, use often and shows no sign of wear and tear, so I'd say it's very durable.

I wanted to use this a few times before I submitted a review. Am very happy. It seems that all of these things have their eccentricities when it comes to the amount of water the instructions tell you to use vs actual use. Same here, but I think it's mostly a matter of taste. I use less water than the instructions suggest, and have had consistently great soft boiled-medium boiled eggs. (My preferences.) They peel like a dream. It seems to be extremely well constructed-made to last. (Hint: Use a little vinegar to wipe the heating plate off after each use and it'll look like new every time.) I use it all the time.

Settings for water dispenser are inaccurate

This product works good but with one caveat : the settings on the water container are not really accurate in my opinion. I use this product for soft poached eggs but the eggs come out egg bites even on poached egg setting. For soft poached eggs, fill water container about 1/8 inch from the top of the 2 poached egg setting and they come out perfect for me. All in all it’s a wonderful product!

Jack of all trades, master of none - no, make that master of ONE. But how really difficult is it to hard boil an egg? In over 8 decades of purchasing items from paperclips to palaces (a man's home is his castle), I have never been more disappointed in a product. EGG BITES: creative but who wants to wait for their "scrambled" eggs to cool so they can eat them with their fingers rather than a fork. Beside which these egg bites come out of their little cups soggy - not moist, but soggy! And I have been adding ham, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese, even broccoli and cauliflower to my scrambled eggs for years. POACHED EGGS: the real hope for my purchase. Who can argue with a perfectly poached egg? Firmly cooked white while maintaining a runny yolk. YUM! But these poached eggs love their little cups so well you have to use a rubber spatula to tear them from their "non-stick" cups, furthermore exacerbating the possibility of achieving perfection as they continue to cook while you wrestle each egg from its temporary home. THE COOKING PLATE: Again creative, but cooking on a 5.25 inch "hotplate?" I'll opt for even a small skillet with a handle. PERHAPS its best to be really good at one thing rather than being mediocre at several.

The item is handy in the kitchen and easy to clean. What I understood it would do - make delicious egg bites and shut off when the eggs are cooked (as the instruction said 'shuts off automatically'. First tries resulted in soft-boiled eggs coming out hard, and egg bites soggy-mushy; inspite of the exactly measured amount of water used. Not a reason to return, but also not serving the purpose I got this for - automating breakfast
