This replaced a Keurig Duo which died after 3 years. For one third the cost, I'll go with a bulkier machine that appears to be far more reliable. So far it is working well. Cons/gripes: -The buttons are not as easy to understand at first, but you get a hang of it - it is just weird button placement. -There is no way to turn the machine off (instructions say to unplug it), only the hotplate can actually be manually turned off. -The water tanks in the back make it impossible to see how much water is in the Single-serve side. The small tank holds maybe 4 coffee cups worth. -The carafe tank has a bizarre overflow hole that just dumps water all over your counter if you're not paying attention - and it's perfectly placed to get hit when pouring normally. -The little stand for your coffee cup on the single serve side isn't deep enough to function as a drip tray. It holds maybe two drips then splashes. It's nice that it is easily removable (it isn't attached to anything) so you can use your tall coffee mug or travel bottle easily. -The machine is bulky -And worst of all, the power cord is ridiculously too short. I don't know why they even bother adding a little cord storage compartment in the back. ... show more

The needle the pierces the K-cups and delivers water would get clogged and then the machine makes funny noise and gives an error message. If this were my machine only, I might keep it since it was not hard to clean the needle. However, this was bought for a vacation rental and I could see this happening to renters which would not be a good experience. At first it happened when I used the holder that allowed me to make a single cup with my own grounds. I figured I could just not make that option available. However, the second time it happened when I was using store bought K cups for an established brand. I am out of my return window, so will donate it. Awsome product. Only problem was a overload signal. Quick and easy fix. Need to remove Gray plastic needle holder in lid of single brew and clean the holes in the needle with a paper clip of coffee grains.

I did not have high expectations for this coffee maker from the get go but I was completely caught off guard! I should have known that Hamilton Beach know what they are doing! This coffee maker actually is a well packaged and put together product which makes great coffee!! This thing is extremely quiet and makes a full carafe or a single serve cup of coffee in one machine!! For single serve coffee it uses either regular coffee grounds or individual pods and coffee is served hot! There is only one thing I would suggest to Hamilton Beach on this product! It does not send out a tone to let you know that it is done! It has all the latest new things but left out the tone that lets you know its done! I like most people like that pretty basic thing which would have made this product completely whole! ... show more
