The media could not be loaded. I have a small pond in Northern Minnesota, arguably I will have about the coldest pond winter in the US. I need something to keep my 20 inch deep 10 foot round pond & fish from freezing. I was using small water pumps, they work, but as the height of water/ice changes during the winter, the jet of water height changes and creates issues. I bought this air bubbler in hopes the air will do a better job since the water level won't affect the performance. I found limited reviews from cold climate users, so this will be my first year test. I read about keeping it out of inclement weather, I found my local hardware store has battery boxes for Rvs & boats. A battery box was perfect! This aerator fits in and only needed one hole drilled for the hose. The electrical cord fits out one of the several top cover openings meant for cables and those openings should allow for ample air supply and heat exchange (for those in hotter climates). It will keep rain out and should keep snow out as well since I keep it under my covered patio that only gets small amounts of blowing snow. I can't yet attest to the durability or if it will work in the 20 below zero Minnesota winter, but I'll update this if it fails to work. Edit: This was a big success and made it thru winter without any issues. It ran solid even in the 20 below temps. The aeration didn't change in the fluctuating temps. The bubbler disks didn't freeze up and the air kept the pond open the majority of the time. When it was really cold in January, occasionally the entire pond would ice over, but the ice dome above the bubbles was thin and easy to chip open, this was only an occasional need. First of all, they sent correct pump in my second time purchase. They previously sent a Ox-generation pump 7000 to me. That pump is more expensive than this one, but only 5000 gallon. It is great, but somehow I expected more for a 8000 gallon. I tried to hook up 3 ways: 2 goes main pond 5ft deep, 1 for a goldfish pond 2ft. The main seems lacking of air pump, with just one pump air. Goldfish pond does not have air go into. I gave up the 3-ways idea and just focus on main pond ... show more

It's too soon to really comment on the durability/reliability of this pump, as I just got it, and only ran it for about an hour to make sure it was working (gotta do my fall clean-out before I turn it on for the winter). It seems like it will be a good one...and it is quiet. When I first hooked everything up, I discovered one of the two aerators was not working properly. I contacted the company through Amazon, and received 2 replacement aerators immediately! So, time will tell on the pump itself, but right now this gets 5 stars for amazing customer service! ... show more

I needed to replace the bubbler in my 5000 gallon pond quickly. The one I had had for years finally died and we were getting ready to go out of town for a few days. This aerator has always been noisy. Having never used one before, I just thoughts that's how they sound. This was stored inside per instructions. Set back up but this year but it generated no air. Took apart to look at the diaphragm and discovered why it was so noisy and not producing air. There are suppose to be 2 hooks that the right and left diaphragm arms attach to which allows the diaphragm to move in an out. There is only 1 hook so the left side just rattles. Internal components are also very rusted. This was kept under a waterproof box during seasonal use. Company does not sell a replacement diaphragm that I can find. Not a good investment if you expect to use in a home pond. ... show more
