I got these to spare myself the hassle of trying to hack into my thick hair with the kitchen scissors. It's a great set for novices like me. The blades are nice and sharp, and if you have small hands these will probably work out great for you. I don't have particularly large hands but the thumb holes on these are small enough to be a problem.
