This is a great starter kit for anyone wanting to make candles. It has everything needed to get you started, My husband had mentioned maybe starting to make or own since everything is getting more expensive, so I bought this for us to start with. Definably stay with any older children or young teens to supervise as hot wax will burn fast. A steady hand is needed for pouring and melted wax is a little heavier than when it's solid. One thing we have started doing is saving old candle jars for reuse as we have been doing more. It's definitely good DIY project. But I would definitely put down wax paper or foil or something where you are pouring into containers in case of spills. That way you can peel the wax off to remelt and not have to scrape it off the countertop and scratch the surface up. Overall, we got a good buy as I had been watching for it to be on sale and when the price dropped, I jumped on it. Since there is no color additive, that's not an issue, but you can buy dye to use. Everything is included so it's a great buy for getting started.

I bought this candle making kit expecting a safe, beginner-friendly experience. Instead, it nearly caused a house fire. During normal use, the heating component overheated and created a serious fire risk. I had to act quickly to prevent my home from burning down. This product feels poorly designed and unsafe. There were not enough warnings or proper safety controls for something that involves high heat and flammable materials. I would not recommend this kit to anyone, especially beginners or families. No craft project is worth risking your home or life.
