We had bought this for a air conditioning unit a portable one that you had to drain and also was almost constantly needing draining so we just attached this jug to the unit and you could visually see the water level and it was very helpful. Very sturdy and easy to pick up to dump when we replaced our air conditioning unit with one that didn’t need constant draining. I quickly found a use for this in watering our plants in the garden and could find many other uses for it as well nice cap leak proof also has a valve on the other side to vent while you’re dumping however it is sealed so you need to drill a hole on it or use a screwdriver and punch a hole all the way through, but it’s there and has a screw on cap as well for that. ... show more

    • These are the typical 5 gallon hedpacks but at a lower price.
These hedpacks are your standard food safe fuel and oil compatible HDPE ones you will see for sale elsewhere, but at a lower cost with an aquarium related label slapped on them. I absolutely love these leak proof containers. You can store food or water in them, use them for fuel tanks, use them to bring your used motor oil for recycling, and yes, use them for water changes in your aquarium. There are limitless uses for these. They are sturdy and stack/store well because of their efficient boxy shape. You get get dispenser lids for them so you can set them sideways on a counter and dispense water or other beverages. They can be used as low profile air tight floats for docks. Seriously limitless. The rear vent is sealed by default, giving you the option of piercing it with a hot pin or fully drilling it out. For other uses you can leave it permanently sealed such as with the dock floats. These are great water jugs. They are much easier to handle and carry than the tall 5-gallon jugs. They sit better in the trunk of the car, are nearly impossible to tip over and the caps seal well. They’re easier to tip forward to pour, and the water flows out cleanly without spattering everywhere. They’re substantial and well made.     • Using for used engine oil
I’ve been using this to transfer used oil from a large container outside, to a heater inside that runs off it. They are HDPE, so they are compatible with oil. I was previously using 5 gallon buckets with spouts on them. I really disliked that I couldn’t readily see how much oil was in them (black buckets). I also had an incident when the lid popped off while pouring (the lip on the lid was distorted/worn out) and I decided that was enough. These have a much bigger pour spout. They have an air bleeder (they come sealed up, you have to drill through with ideally a 1/4” drill bit. The air bleeder helps a lot with chugging and therefore minimizing the chance for spillage while pouring. They are thick enough. Thicker is always better, but these are not so thin that you need to worry, provided you take care of them. I would avoid leaving these in the sun long term, I imagine prolonged UV exposure would cause them to become fragile/brittle. Would buy again. ... show more

This makes water changes easier. I removed the black cap on the air inlet, trimmed the top off above the threads and can put my RO DI hose right in there so it stays put. Sturdy jug.

I use this with my Ryobi pressure washer for camping and cleaning off equipment after rides. This does the job and I have no complaints.

I use this for my reptile misting systems, and it works great for keeping the water clean without any leaks. Did have a strange smell at first but after washing it came right out.
