    • Good specifications, but it just doesn't work
The media could not be loaded. This feels like a sturdy piece, and looks to support my kids (ages 7-10) pretty easily. It rides smooth, and generally WOULD be a good purchase IF... it only did the things it said it did. The app is pretty buggy, and simply would not connect to my wife's iPhone. We did everything you would do to troubleshoot an app and bluetooth connection (install/uninstall/update/forget-repair/etc) and still no luck. I did get the app connected to my Android, but it's slow, and disconnects really frequently. The adult/child settings don't seem to change anything in how the board behaves, and I've already had to re-calibrate the unit a few times for seemingly no particular reason (the board just starts to take off on it's own with no one riding). Fortunately, the music function doesn't need the app, and any device can connect to it via bluetooth and broadcast music to it as you would for any other bluetooth speaker (yes my wife's iPhone will connect and play music through it, but the app will not connect to it - go figure). All that aside, I don't really care too much about the app, what I do care about is that the wheels lit up when we first unboxed this and turned it on, although we noticed in video that the left wheel wasn't flashing like the right wheel. Then after about 10min, the left wheel lights turned off and have not turned back on again. This doesn't impact the driveability of the unit, but it really stinks to have paid so much for a product and have it only half-working and family asking what's wrong with it on day one. I've contacted customer support, but they've been slow so far and not been any help. I got the standard, "make sure you update the app" answer from them about their app not working, and they completely ignored me on the main problem that I have with the lights in the wheel. I'm disappointed to say the least given this is one of the most expensive options out there with a hoverboard and I was hoping for some quality. I'm going to give Gyroo customer support a couple more days to respond before I return it and purchase a different brand. ... show more
