One rule when it comes to videography or photography (or anything relating to lighting design), is that you can never have enough lights in your inventory. So why buy one when you can buy two? Course, that isn't the selling point of these. This is just a kit of two for when you want to buy two instead of one. The selling point is each individual light and what it can accomplish for the price. In this case, the lights do a great job of selling themselves. If you divide the price in half to determine the price of each and then compare them to what's out there, they are only a little more than your non-RGB options with the same build-style of light. They aren't as compact as some of the thinner options that feature built-in batteries, but one of those typically cost the price of both of these put together. So two completely different ball games there. These are great for those looking to load up on lights (or buy a few) and don't have the money for those more expensive options. When you are ready, you can upgrade to the better options (these guys sell those too!) and keep these for backups or fillers. You can control these completely from the back of the light. There are two rotating knobs on the back to keep it simple and clean looking, one for brightness and the other for temperature (hot to cold). Pressing the temperature one switches to hue mode for a full RGB range. There's nothing too it. They come with everything you need, including a (very) simple diffuser. If you need anything more than that, you'll have to tape some gel to it or something. They do come with table-top tripod stands to help hold them up with, and they feature your normal threads at the bottom for said stands, or you can attach them to a normal camera mount and use normal tripods or adapters to get them anywhere you need them (of course, you'll have to supply any of that yourself beyond the little tripods it comes with). They also have a battery and charger for each light which is an important feature there to really help justify that price tag with, as well as a cold-shoe adapter so they can ride directly on top of a camera. There is an AC adapter connection on the side of each light, although it doesn't come with an adapter. It would have been nice to get one of these, but you can find a universal adapter typically for not too much. You're only going to go that route if you are planning for a static setup vs mobile anyway. You can connect to the lights via the GVM Easily app (odd name, we know, but it doesn't matter as long as it works). Each light puts out its own WiFi SSID you can connect to and then the app will be able to pull off the same function as the dials on the back. The only catch here is that the app can only connect to one light at the same time. Kind of a drag there as it doesn't really save you much time unless the lights are installed out of reach. If they are close by, then you can manually set everything from their backside just as quickly if not quicker. This is because the app can only connect to one at a time. There is no way to join them to the same network. That would have made these an incredibly in-demand purchase, as you'd be able to adjust all of your lights at the same time. Sadly, you can only do one at a time, so you'll likely find yourself skipping this feature and just adjusting the lights directly (unless, again, they are out of reach making the app a convenience). Battery life seems pretty good, and I'm sure you can buy more batteries from them if you wish. If not, the batteries are Sony NP-F550 style, so you can just find another option out there that will fit. So far, we really like these lights. For their price, you get a pretty decent amount of features and they come with a everything you need (including the batteries), and they are pretty bright. The app needs function, but you may never find yourself using it anyway. It's a good product, from a good brand. My teenage daughter and her friends have started a music group, I’m so proud of them! They work so hard!! And they are very dedicated ! When she asked me to buy this light for them, so they can make there first music video, I just couldn’t refuse. After some research and price comparing , this set seemed to give you the most for your money. And they really are awesome, even better than I expected! I especially Love how easy they are to use! There are only 3 buttons brightness control, color temperature control and the on/off. Absolutely Perfect for the girls!! They have a very professional look to them, but at an amazing price!! They are compact, and lightweight , makes for packing up and transporting from one garage to another a breeze! We have had them for 2 weeks now, and the girls have only had to charge them 2 times since they arrived.. the battery life is extremely impressive!! The lights are very durable , they have had a lot of use since they arrived and are holding up very nicely!! They also have a very high quality look and feel to them.. At there brightest setting, THEY ARE BRIGHT!! the tripod stands are extraordinarily high quality, which was very important to me since they will be getting transported every day. The app was just a bonus!! The girls didn’t have any intention on using it at first ,But later decided too , and actually found it easy to navigate, very handy and Even fun to use!! The girls videos have a really professional look to them. These lights were the backbone!! Overall beyond happy with this investment! Literally worth every penny!!

Not a bad product. But I had ordered the two lighting system and one of the lights did not work. Turns out the battery was bad. Call the company in California and they Will be shipping me a new battery. Great customer service. For the product it is what it is, you get what you pay for. It will work for my needs just fine. (Small Video Production) The app could be use a little updating. Having some difficulty connecting but once connected seems to work pretty good. Trying to figure out if I can control both lights with the one app at the same time. UPDATE. NEW BATTERY ARRIVED. All is well in the world.

As a stand alone light this one is excellent in terms of performance. The brightness is good and the color (both temp and RGB) are as I expected. In my application I’m using this as a hair light and background color light in a podcast studio set on AC power. I wrote the support company address to get the pin size for the DV input (it’s 2.5 mm pin barrel connector not 2.1mm). After reaching out to customer service about the power requirements, they were very responsive and you can use a 9VDC or 12VDC adapter. Using this with HomeKit it requires that you turn them on each (they don’t come on with power application) and then switch to color mode, but they do remember the color stored. If you’re using this on a camera with a battery or setting it up every time, it’s a good buy. The stands are nice and then came with a travel bag, two batteries and two chargers. Great value.

When the lights showed up, 1 worked and 1 didn't. They seem pretty cheaply manufactured, but I suppose at the price point for 2 of them, that's to be expected. I'm giving it 3 stars though because the 1 that worked I rather like, and when I contacted Amazon they gave me a 50% refund (amazon store credit) and I didn't have to ship anything back. Which is a net win, because now I have 2 tripods, 2 cold shoes, 2 batteries/chargers, etc. for my one working light. And the battery type is pretty universal in a lot of camera gear so I'll get some good mileage out of it. So am I happy when all is said and done? Yeah, I guess I am. Would I buy this product again? Nah, probably not. Now for me to take the broken one apart and see if I can repair it. Hopefully once I crack it open it'll just be some loose wiring or something I can fix. It'll be a BIG WIN if I can get them both working.
