Got this to use as a brooder/baby chick coop. Works great. We left the roof off and covered with hardware wire, so we could hang a heat lamp up above for the chicks. (While they stayed in the barn/shed) Once they got old enough to graduate to outside we moved the coop out to the yard in a secure fenced area. Reattached the roof. And let them roam free in the pen/run during the day. They happily go back into the coop at night. Eventually they will be introduced to the main coop and the older hens. It’s cute. Big enough for 4 hens. Kind of cheap material but will do for now. Would I pay that amount again for something like this? Absolutely not. Rather pay the extra and have it built.

This was easy to assemble, the instructions were clear, and it was exactly the right size. One of the pieces was cracked upon arrival, but a little glue set it to rights. So far, it has met expectations. The quality of the wood did leave something to be desired, and I will be re-painting it for weatherproofing and a finished look. ... show more

I would not have gave this product a single star had we not worked around the broken pieces. Box was delivered damaged and essential pieces inside also damaged. Requested a return. Return label returns product to China at my expense! NOPE! I was not about to package everything back up to spend who knows what to ship it back to china. I used wood glue and repaired the damaged pieces best as we could and then assembled the coop. Wood is more like chip core or Styrofoam. ... show more

Can't imagine using this coop for any size other than bantams. Roost bar sits almost on floor so chickens don't bother with it. Wood product is very thin and flimsy. Almost feels like balsa wood. Had to use rebar to stabilize so raccoons can't turn it over. Very lightweight.
