The gun safe is perfect for what I needed. It was big enough to put the pistol that I wanted in it lock very well and easy to get into and figure everything out the fingerprint reader works really well. You just have to do it a couple of different times to make sure you got it right And the price was definitely a fair price for it. I would recommend this to anybody that wants a good pistol safe, and you can also attach it to a stud in the wall so nobody can take it.

I am truly impressed with this gun safe. It was easy to set up and store the fingerprints and code. I love the quick open feature! The size is perfect and holds more than I expected. It’s good quality, the metal is thick and flimsy. I would definitely purchase this brand from this seller again.

This GS201 handgun safe does what it promises — fast access, reliable fingerprint recognition, and secure storage — but be prepared for a frustrating setup due to unclear instructions. Here’s what you need to know: The manual is vague and confusing. It doesn’t clearly explain how to: Set your custom password Register fingerprints Turn the beeping sound on or off There are three small buttons inside the safe that control: Password setup Biometric fingerprint registration Beep sound toggle (on/off) Battery installation is not intuitive. The safe requires 4 AA batteries, which are stored inside the safe. The manual and product page don’t explain this well. Important tip: The battery diagram in the manual is incorrect. Bottom 2 batteries = negative (-) Top 2 batteries = positive (+) Start from the bottom and install upward. You’ll need a mail opener or similar tool to open the internal battery compartment lid. Also, the batteries that came with the unit were dead, so have fresh AA batteries ready. Start setup by using the manual key to open the safe, replace the batteries, then: 1. Press the “password” button inside 2. Enter the default code that's on the manual, 123456 3. Set your new password (which replaces the default password and it gets deleted when you create a new one, because I tested it and it worked) I successfully registered my fingerprints multiple times (thumbs and forefingers) and also added my spouse’s — all scans worked flawlessly. Capacity & Fit: This safe comfortably fits only one full-size 9mm pistol with attachments. My setup includes: One full-size 9mm handgun with an optic red dot sight A dual red dot laser and flashlight combo attachment One 20-round magazine clipped into the firearm Two additional 20-round magazines stored next to it. That’s the maximum it can hold without cramming or risking scratching the optics or attachments. If your firearm has similar accessories, expect a tight but secure fit. Final Thoughts: Once past the setup confusion, the safe works great. It's solid, responsive, and quick to access via fingerprint or keypad. It fits neatly in a drawer or bedside nightstand and gives me peace of mind. To the seller: Please kindly improve the manual and add a step-by-step unboxing/setup video. That would help a lot of users avoid confusion. I still recommend this product, just be ready for a short learning curve during the initial setup.

Love the fingerprint reader! Although it can be a little finicky when trying to open it using that method. Other than that, it's so easy to setup the code and fingerprints. This gun safe feels sturdy. and I'm happy.

The electronics on the safe were defective, and after initially working, the keypad and fingerprint reader both became inoperable, trapping my pistol inside. Now I need either to pay a locksmith to open the damn thing or try to open the safe myself with power tools, thereby destroying it, to retrieve my pistol. The safe is big enough for two compact pistols or maybe big enough for two full-size pistols with no more than 4 1/2 inch barrels, but you definitely could not fit two handguns in there with 5 inch barrels. I had it with an 4.5 inch semi auto with two magazines and that fit fine enough. There is an included cable with a stopper on it that one can wrap around something sturdy such as a heavy piece of furniture or shackle bolted to the floor for added security. Initially, the keypad and the fingerprint reader were both easy to program and worked perfectly for both me and my spouse. Unfortunately, we had a house fire, and in the process of all of the fire and smoke remediation cleaning, the metal backup key got lost. But the electronic locks both worked perfectly when I tested them multiple times so, with fully charged batteries, I felt confident in locking a handgun in it. Literally the next day, with no physical or electromagnetic interference of any sort, it suddenly stopped recognizing any fingerprints or the code number for the keypad. The listing for this item suggests that the company stands behind its products, but that is false. There is absolutely no way to contact the company for tech-support or other assistance, such as ordering a new backup key. The manufacturer does not respond to questions posted in the Amazon Q & A, either. Calls to my local locksmiths found one that would open it for $10 or $20 but most likely will have to drill the lock out. All of the other locksmiths in the area had a $100 minimum charge. Avoid this Chinese piece of garbage that is not only defective, but has absolutely no customer support. If the only purpose for this item was simply to keep a handgun secure, there are cheaper mechanical – only locked versions that will be better. But this is specifically designed to be an easy-to-access safe for emergency situations, such as kept in one’s nightstand or under the counter of a store against intruders. This safe utterly fails to fulfill its purpose and should be avoided.
