I purchased this safe to replace a small, 3-digit Amazon Basics combination safe. So far, I am loving this product— it doesn’t give away the combination with clicking noises when a correct number is entered like the cheaper combination safe. The Amazon Basic safe allowed my roommate to break in without the combination multiple times, even after changing the combination each time he broke in. This one appears to be more secure. The fingerprint sensor is very picky and requires near exact placement of the finger you scanned and stored. For that reason, I suggest storing 3-5 scans of each finger used. At first I didn’t particularly care for having to do that, but after reflecting, I consider requiring the more exact finger placement to be a good security feature— Not only would an attacker need your fingerprint but they also need knowledge of how it’s placed on the sensor.

This little safe was just what I needed to keep my firearm handy in a possible crisis, but safely away from the hands of grandchildren. Easy, fast, nearly mistake-proof opening, with a nice cushioning interior.

Safe firearm storage is paramount in our house but we also like to be prepared so quick firearm access is a must. This biometric safe accomplishes this on multiple levels and does it well. We have a couple of these for each side of the bed and both work fairly similar. Based on the electronics I would guess they both use the same electronics. We mounted both safes on the side of our nightstands which was easy to do with the pre drilled holes in the base. We mounted them so that they open tray up which allows easy access to the firearm quickly. Programming your finger print and code was easy enough. We found quickly though that finger placement was crucial to open the safe. As we figured we might be doing this in the middle of the night barely awake we decided we might want to input multiple finger prints from different angles and also we made sure to program each others prints in both safes. This safe allows for up to 100 fingerprints so we registered a few from us both. This improved the responsiveness of the biometric fingerprint reader. Once programmed it opens super quick so no issues with ease of access. The backup key works fine and the code input while longer than it should be also works fine. Would have preferred a shorter code versus the required six digit code, but in reality the code isn’t your first go to for opening the safe anyways. Having the internal LED light is super nice so you can see once open. That said if your using this for home protection you should practice lots and be able to retrieve your firearm without looking and quickly. Construction wise this is a decently built safe box, but by no means would I consider it a safe itself. It will keeps the kids out which is the point, but anyone who really wants to get into this will. Won’t be quick but I wouldn’t imagine it would take tons of effort. Remember this is a sub $100 biometric safe, so don’t expect the same protection as a wall safe or dedicated safe. The box itself is made of thin guage steel all around with internal hinges. It will fit two handguns but we chose one for each in a holster with a second magazine in the front of the holster. We like the fact that it has the USB power backup in case the batteries die. The key will always work regardless but nice to know that backup exits as we always have USB at our bedside. Overall this is a really nice biometric safe with great functionality and easy to operate that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Since my office is in the very back of our house, furthest from the door, I wanted to be able to have my side arm safely stored in an accessible place but still safe when my niece brings her kids over. This safe allows me to do that while still having almost immediate access to it if needed. I dislike the required code length as it seems that it will slow down my access if I need it in an emergency situation. Luckily it has a fingerprint read option which speeds access while keeping it safe from little fingers. It offers a silent mode so that it doesn't make any sounds to give away your location if you need access while in a dangerous situation. It also has a cable that allows you to secure it in place so that it cannot be stolen. If by some chance it gets stolen it is tamper resistance. I am happy with the safe it gives me piece of mind that I am safe in a bad situation and visitors to my home are safe as well.
