  • Sturdy, easy assembly and well built. Excellent value for the price!
I had researched two-man tree stands and decided to take a chance on this one. Guide Gear is a popular brand, and this stand did not disappoint! I laid everything out on the garage floor and followed the manual. All the parts were present, and it went together in an hour. Putting it up is definitely a two-person job just for the weight of the stand but once in place, it was a short job to strap it in. The surprise was the two safety harnesses that come with this kit. They are medium duty fall protection and easy to set up. One thing that I did to improve the comfort of a long sit was to add another layer of foam for the seat. Also, I recommend putting a base under the legs so they don't sink into the soil. I used a couple of 12"x12" pavers and then covered them with dirt and leaves. Overall, this is a well-built, comfortable stand and has many features of stands costing $100-$300 more. ... show more

  • Poor Quality control, GREAT strength
I'll start with, this is not an actual "Double" stand. This is for a small child and adult or one person that wants some room to move around. It is very heavy, but also VERY sturdy once installed on a tree. My issue I had was the absolutely HORRIBLE quality control/craftsmanship on the foot platform specifically. The diamond wire open area was so screwed up, it was like patch work near where the support bolts were required to be. It made getting a wrench or socket very hard and luckily they are nylock nuts, or they may have backed out from not being entirely snug due to the terrible blocking construction. The instructions aren't the greatest and the bolts/nuts are not individually labeled in groups, so you get to hold them up to the "life size" examples printed in the instructions. Overall, this is a SOLID single person or large man stand. I would not buy this as a double stand ever again, it is not wide enough for two adults to sit comfortably nor would they be able to effectively draw a bow next to each other with the limited space. ... show more

  • Easy fix to raise the front rail
A lot of reviews said the front rail is way too low to rest your gun or bow. Easy fix was, don't put it on like the picture shows or instructions say, instead just flip it over so the 2 little bars that rest on arms are on the bottom of rail instead of the top. Worked perfectly to gain height. The seat is not as wide as picture looks, two thin people can sit in it, not two big men, it's 36". Otherwise, well built, sturdy, we added a piece of stiff foam wall insulation board under seat cushion just for more comfort. ... show more

  • Tree stand
We got this put together without significant issues. However, the bolts we were supposed to use weren't in the package; other bolts were. The tree stand states it's for two people but it isn't. One person can comfortably sit in it with room to spare. It would be very tight for two men with their gear, ... show more

  • Ok mid range stand
I like the wrap around idea, but the seat has bars that hurt after 30 min and the shooting rail is too shallow. (Short front to back.) The ladder is one of the best I have put up. (My hunting group has almost 20 stands in all so we have a decent comparative.) After cutting a board for over the seat bars/under the pad, it is a decent stand especially for solo. ... show more

  • Meh
Update 11/6/25. I have to say that I am now fairly disappointed with this purchase. The issues I had with noise have significantly magnified with colder weather. Additionally, this stand is woefully uncomfortable. The back support consists of a single 1" horizontal bar which digs into your back just above the hips. There is simply no way to get comfortable in this thing. Mind you, I'm a deer hunter. I'm not looking for a 5 star experience, as discomfort is the norm, but this is extreme. Additionally, there is no drain hole in the seat cover, so the seat fills with water at the fold in the cushion. This stand is rapidly becoming a stand I avoid sitting in. have assembled and installed this stand and it is very roomy and taller than most of my other ladder stand. The convex platform lends itself to better and more comfortable shot angles, and there is no questioning how solid and sturdy this thing is. Seems comfortable enough so far, but I have yet to spend a long sit in it. My sole gripe so far is that this stand, and specifically the ladder is NOISY, which I absolutely hate. The ladder certainly seems secure enough with the conventional male-female ladder sockets, but included with the ladder are "safety sleeves" which reinforce the junction where two ladder sections meet. Basically just a four inch square tube to keep the joint from buckling. I probably could have left them off, but I didn't. The issue with them is they are loose fitting, so when you climb the ladder, the sleeves clickety-clack more than telegraph machine on a sinking submarine. I would NOT consider this a reason not to buy the stand, but if you're particular about noise like I am, this is definitely something to be aware of. I fixed mine for this year with some of the commercially available camo silencing tape, but this step should not be necessary. Nobody wants a noisy treestand, and this is plainly a design error. I'll update the review if there is anything notable to report after I spend some hours in the stand this bow season. ... show more
