I would have given it a 5 start rating, but it came with defective setting. Center of the lock where you need to place the latch has to be straight, otherwise how hard you try, it won't function properly! I installed it many times and finally after putting 2 hours of efforts I figured out the issue and able to install it. Passcode, smart key and keys are working fine. One issue I observer, after installing top of the toll didn't fit properly with the door, otherwise fine, it's not effecting the functions anyway. I wish their installation video would mention the trick, then I would be rather happy and hassle free installation. ... show more

I needed a replacement lock that was keypad only. I wanted new features. The Gudlaif smart door lock was a great find. The whole fixture feels solid and durable. It is sealed really well and can handle the elements if exposed. It took me about 45 minutes, some of that spent looking for a screwdriver. Once downloaded the app is user friendly. It worked well - fairly easy to install. got thumb prints in and it worked like a dream. then about 3 weeks in we had to enter a couple of times before it would unlock. Just on one person for a few days. then others. By about 8 th of Sept (i bought early August I think..) cant return after Sept 2... it totally quit. Would not unlock for any reason. Finally took the override code. We took it off to see if we had done anything Did not appear so but part looked bent. It was still well seated and tight. If someone tried to breakin they did not get in. It was secure. But no longer usable. 60 Dollars wasted. ... show more

    • I really like not having to find my key to open the door
I really like this smart lock, my vehicle is a push button start so I rarely take my keys out of my purse anymore, expect when I have to try to find them for the house key if no one is home. I don't have to do that anymore, no fumbling around with trying to open a zipper and get the right key. There doesn't seem to be a limit for fingerprints, my kids like it, they won't have to dig their keys out when school starts, and no more waiting for me to park the car and unlock the front door. Occasionally it says fingerprint not recognizing, but you just have to reposition, or possibly hold it on a little longer. You can program multiple passcodes, and generate passcodes for one time use. You can use the app to set it too autolock, passage lock, you can also lock and unlock the door from your phone but you need to be within 2 meters of the lock for your phone to work with the lock. You can also purchase a gateway to use it for remote lock with it. It came with 2 rf cards, which were easy to set up, and 2 keys, which is kind of awkward to use. The app shows the battery life, but if they die you can use a battery pack to plug into it to use the key pad. Just a couple things I don't like about it is that you can't tell if the door is locked or not if you don't have it on auto lock, and you can't lock the door from the inside, you have to use the app or open the door to push the # symbol. You can only have one schedule for passage mode, so it's either schedule it for the week or schedule it for the weekend, or have it all the same. Also with the key pad being a little higher than the handles there is no screws holding it tight, so it has spun a little from turning the handles, so it's a little crooked. The app doesn't always work with it either, quite a few time it has failed to connect with the lock when trying to change settings. ... show more

I installed new closet doors in each bedroom. Because mom has dementia and has gotten in to everything, replacing the doors with a smart lock was the best choice to secure important items. My brother took about 45 minutes to get this lock installed. Now, when mom tries to get in to the closet, nothing happens. She's unable to get in and she gives up. This is what I was going for. This lock has made my life so much easier. I have been looking for a keyless entry door handle that was suitable for an outside door and at a reasonable price. While some were reasonably priced, many were not rated for front door/outdoor use, especially in colder temperatures, which is a concern where I live. The listing for this handle says it's suitable for what I needed, so I gave it a try! Installation was relatively easy. Once the old handle and lock were removed, it was just a matter of installing the bolt and plate, and then screwing in the back plate and keypad and attaching the handles. The only issue we ran into is that my door is old, 1960s, so the hole that the bolt and mechanicals pass through was a bit too small. We remedied that by drilling and additional large 1/2 inch hole at the top of the existing hole, that did the trick. Also, the handle plates had three screw holes but the directions only accounted for two. Not a huge deal, but inconvenient. The app set up was also easy. Ideally, I would have opted for a lock that didn't require wifi access, which this does. I set up a passcode plus out fingerprints easily and quickly. The app is relatively intuitive, but the directions were included in the package and were helpful. We've been using this for a week and it's been great. I can't always get the touchpad to light up, as there are not "buttons", so I have been using the fingerprint feature more than I thought I would. I hated getting out my keys every time I ran out of the house, and hoping my son would remember to bring his keys everyday too. This has eliminated all those worries, it's so freeing. I like that the door locks automatically 5 seconds after opening, you can extend the auto lock time or turn that off in the app, and the latch catches securely each time. I will update with durability after longer use, but so far I love it! ... show more
