They were light to medium weight and the color being white, it allowed light to come through and keep things bright inside. We only used them on this rainy, windy day at the park and used bungee cords to tie them to the posts of the pavilion so we were protected from the weather, they worked out perfectly, keeping out the rain and withstood wind some strong wind gusts of up to at least 25 mph. The metal grommets held up and did not rip out of the plastic tarp. Though it was terrible weather for an outdoor event, were still able to enjoy my Mom's 90th birthday party, the tarps saved the day! Afterwards we took them down and let them dry out for a couple of days then folded them up for storage, easy!

This is not a sturdy tarp by any stretch of the imagination, but it does what it's supposed to (keep rain/leaves off of things). I would not recommend this if you are trying to protect things against harsh weather such as a hurricane or heavy snow, but for short-term protection against normal rain it works fine. I purchased bungee cords to secure it instead of using the included rope. So far after two months it is still holding together in one piece through thunderstorms and heatwaves. For a cheap tarp I think I have gotten my money's worth.

Theses are 5mil, I believe. They are not as thick as the ones I replaced and I'm waiting to see how well and how long they last. I bought the green, which lean a bit to the olive color, in my opinion. I like the color as it matches all the grass and bushes in front of where I hung the tarps for front porch wind and rain barriers. They provide the privacy I want, and they allow just a bit evening light through, which I like. I did have to add a few extra grommets in places I needed them, but that wasn't an issue. The last ones I used were hurricane proof, as for these, we shall see.
