I bought one of these units for a client on a much smaller budget than I normally work with. I thought if it was only for spoken word, mostly comedy, it would do ok. When I plugged it in to test it I was pleasantly surprised it features everything I hope for in a stand alone wireless unit. The IR handset sync and channel scan is just like Shure. Range and clarity are also on par with brand names. I’m not quite sure about the capsules, but I did take them out for a band show and was able to get nice vocals, male and female out of them. The good (great!): the system has an excellent range with no interference or dropouts - easily over 70 feet (possibly more - simply haven't tried), in Manhattan, through several walls, with the main unit inside a metal rack. The main unit's displays monitor battery level and signal of each microphone. The sound quality is good enough for most speech and even some singing. The mics are solidly built and use AA batteries. Easy to adjust the channels. The bad: why would such a system have mic-level and not line-level outs? Since it receives and processes the wireless signal anyway, attenuating the outs down to mic level and adding a dependency on an external mic preamp seems just silly and wasteful. The ugly: one of the mics started to go quiet - much quieter than the other. It wasn't dropped or otherwise mishandled, and we've tried swapping batteries of course. Sometimes it'd snap to full volume (usually in the first few seconds after being turned on) but then will go quiet again. The other mic is going strong, for he time being. Overall I want to like this system - I think unless you're a pro singer, the sound is plenty good. ... show more

These microphones need a bit of eq to sound good but you can’t beat the value. No drop outs and no ambient noise when the transmitter is off highly recommended

The mics were purchased as we were hosting a karaoke event. Rather than provide singers with our shure and certainly not the sennheizer mics, these performed well. The body of the handhelds are solid and do not have the plastic-like feel of them. Foam mic covers helped against the breath letters that often cause popping. Even switching hands, the mics did not have much noise at all. The distance wasn't tested as the singers were within 50 feet of the receivers at all times.
