My plants thrived during the summer on my sun porch but slowly started dying in the winter. I wanted some lights to keep them alive that didn’t take up too much space or look too offensive. These have worked great so far! My plants are slowly coming back to life and I like that the timer means I don’t even have to do anything. One thing to note… I ordered two of these. On one, the timer is set to 12 hours and seems to turn on at about the same time every day. The other’s timer gets off pretty quickly, like 45 minutes off within a month and a half. I was on vacation and bought some plants without thinking about keeping them happy for 6 days in a hotel room with 1 window. I purchased this light hoping to keep my new friends happy. I was surprised with how fast it was delivered and how bright the lights are. The clip to hang it on a table or shelf is sturdy and strong enough to hold the light where you place it, and you can adjust the light arms without the clip moving. Now that I am home I still use this light so I can place my plants where I want and I don’t have to worry if it will get enough light. I love the "all lights on" setting the most and using that setting, I checked the light LUX measurements; a good 12" - 16" away from the bulbs I am receiving med - high light, 1200 - 1800 lux which my plants and I are perfectly fine with. I'll be ordering more in the near future.
