    • Easy to Install and Use – Perfect for College Trumpet Players
I got the Gripophone Trumpet Phone Lyre for my son to use with his trumpet in college, and it’s been perfect. He’s had no issues with it so far. It’s very easy to install and use, securely holding his phone while he plays. It’s made his practice and performances much more convenient by keeping his phone in place for reading music or accessing apps. Highly recommend it for any trumpet player looking for a reliable phone mount! ... show more

    • Great product!
I used this to march with my alumni college marching band. It was easy to put together and easy to use. It was very sturdy. It was great having my music on my phone while playing at a football game.

This mount works as intended. It attaches to the trumpet over both the bell and the leadpipe, and the padding ensures that your horn won't come away with any scratches. Having used it for a few outdoor gigs where I'm moving around some, it's done it's job in keeping my phone secure quite well. However, there are a couple of annoyances. The whole thing feels pretty cheap, material wise. I've had this for a month and already the plastic shows signs of warping. I don't see this lasting more than two or three seasons, but I could be proven wrong. If you have a trumpet with a brace between the leadpipe and the bell, you're going to have a hard time finding the right placement for the mount. Too far forward and the balance between the bell side and the leadpipe side of the mount will be off, causing a noticeable tilt; too far back and you run into your third valve ring. Even on a trumpet without that middle brace, it can be hard, as the clamp on the bell side can get tight while the leadpipe side remains loose. Considering this is currently a near $30 product, it should be better. But it does work, so it's a worthwhile purchase until better and/or cheaper phone lyres become available. ... show more

    • Great idea!!
I purchased this product because we have an alumni band that performed each year at my Alan Mater Troy University football game. It worked great to put music on phone instead of holding sheet music in one hand. Also used it to put bugle call music where I could see it to play for a Veterans Day ceremony. ... show more

An excellent accessory for my trumpet, doesn't shake around or move at all and I feel secure mounting my phone on it. The soft padding on the inside is perfect to avoid scratches to the leadpipe/bell. The phone mount location is also great perfect to shoot a POV video while playing. I only wish there was an option for different colors, but a great buy nevertheless. A must have for any trumpet player! ... show more

    • Perfect for College
My daughter wanted this for her trumpet bc she is in the marching band in college. It has been wonderful and a bunch of others in her section actually purchased one after seeing hers. She says it works great.

    • Poorly designed but sturdy
Installation is time consuming and laborious. On most trumpets, if you install this at the proper distance for easy viewing in a place that does not restrict movement of the third-valve slide or first-valve slide, you have no choice but to clamp one side of the liar to the tuning slide, which means that you have to loosen the clamp every time you need to tune. Also, the cushioned clamps, when tightened, dampen vibrations where the bell starts to flare, possibly affecting sound quality. On the positive side, it is sturdy, and my iPhone 12, which has a protective case, fits well. Great for practicing music you find on line or have saved to Books, etc., but not ideal for playing with others where tuning is a concern. ... show more
